DJ Johnson

These guys don't want to listen to reason, D.

Coaching is only half of the job.

Yep Kool sucks!!! He only turned Chad Thomas and the rest of the line into Complete monsters. Norton and RJ wouldn’t even have the opportunity to announce a decision today if it wasn’t for Kool. He has brought in freaks like Jo Jackson, Garvin, DJ(still gets credit recruiting wise), Ford, Nesta, Rousseau. But yeah he sucks!

And that’s why I said coaching is only half the job.

Kool is very good at developing talent. That’s not in question. What’s in question is his ability to have said talent consistently produce at a high level and find and cultivate relationships with prospects.

He's putting 3 dlinemen in the NFL this year.

“Kool is very good at developing talent.”

His problem isnt developing talent hes the best of the best, but theres 2 parts to the job he has to recruit DL at an elite level or the dbs and the rest of the D will suffer because of it. I call a spade a spade, if someone on the staffs slippin i have no problem calling them out I dont care who it is it cud be jesus christ himself if he fell in the water i gotta say something. be like bruh u didnt make it u fell,,,,,anyway Kul has a red flag from me. I though he got Sheldon Richardson and all those guys but it was someone else and to credit kul turned them into beasts and Sheldon was high rated too. He did well with Goldens DL he has to recruit the same if not better than AG

Well said.

People really think Coach Kool leaving UM would be best for everyone involved?

Oy vey....

Just from what I saw of DJ this season, he seemed to really lack first-step quickness for an elite DE. He could be best suited to work inside. But he's DJ Gone-son, regardless...

How likely is it that Coach Kool saw what you saw in DJ and asked him to move inside, and DJ said no. This might have upset their working relationship as far as DJ is concerned, and DJ may have then decided to bolt. Rank speculation, but certainly feasible unless its already been confirmed that this is not what happened. If it is true, it would increase my concerns about how Kool approaches filling out our DL unit. DMoney any insight?

Seems to be more that a 3 star out worked him and took his spot he thought he would be given. I wondered why during the year he didn't get more plays. Also why the plays he did get he didn't do anything with. From what others are saying it seems he just didn't put in the effort for this next level.

Hes gonna finish with Nesta, Rousseau, Briggs, & Chatfield. Maybe I'm missing something idk.

Him and Garvin play different spots. Has nothing to do with Garvin

it may not, but you can also argue( or surmise) that seeing another true freshman like Garvin get to play a lot more(and make some impact plays) did get into DJ's mind and affected his attitude. Again, this is just me thinking out loud.

Bottom line, kid just wasn't cut out for Miami

So are you agreeing with the troll that it would be best for UM to get rid of Kul today?

It's like an alternative universe these dudes are seeing.
We are only three years removed from the DL abortion and look at the results he has produced already.
What the **** are these guys taking about?

5* eventually pan out. There are busts here n there...but for the most part, contribute.

You just cant lose 5* lineman at a major program unless youre replacing them with another. Who is replacing DJ Johnson?

Im assuming they let DJ walk like pete said, pete didnt want to say hes a jag he said it in a nice way but Im pretty sure DJ was a jag if he couldnt cutt it. If they fill his spot with a beast im all for it

Thats a good haul, got to add Briggs and Nesta if he doesnt people are allowed to question it. If Pete is mentioning it on his podcast then its a legitimate concern.

I always thought Garvin and DJ would play opposite of each other, but what you say certainly seems likely. Pete spoke about it in his podcast this afternoon and said the coaches missed on their evaluation of DJ, which I found a little surprising.

DJ played high school against weak competition. Not use to the speed of the ACC. Arvin plain out beat him. Wish he would stay but The pac12 fits him

Excuses. Bottom line, he's ego was hurt. Garvin beat him out and he couldn't take it. Soft...move on!

Garvin and Johnson dont even play the same role. Also...they could play on the field at the same time...wtf is up with this nonsense of one "beating out" the other. That **** dont even make sense.

He would have played a ton this year. Inside and out.
