Diaz Not Impressed With Corn

Like i been saying a lot of these guys are not as good as you think and have been over hyped. I never saw where all the hype about corn came from.

How about his playmaking ability in regards to touchdowns, pbu's, ints, sure tackler and coverage ability. You can choose to look at that if you want too. Corn is good but when your are going against Stacy coley everyday your are going to get beat period.

Dude has been getting beat deep by berrios too. Corn had what 1 pick last year. He isnt a sure tackler, he has made some tackles here and there but nothing consistent.

He is a solid punt returner but that doesnt help him cover wrs. Corn is over rated. He is a solid nickle corner.

he actually had 2 int's...geez haha:ambivalence:

IIRC, recently, Mike Rumph said in his interview with Joe Rose, that Corn is clearly the #1 .

"Re Corn elder: he can be the #1 that we can put on anybody. Reminds me of Duane Starks. Will hit you. Don't have to keep an eye on him."

Nah. Corn's average. He's going to be the new voodoo doll for all these morons to stick their pins in because they buy everything a coach tells the media at face value.

The irony of you taking what Rumph has said shouldn't be lost on anyone. Nice try.

Bottom line, Corn hasn't ever been the lockdown corner many were trying to make him out to be. He's had some moments, but that's all it is to this point. I'm not going to get lost in coach speak and will go with what I saw with my own two eyes last year. He's a passable second corner, but I haven't seen a first corner to this point.

This coaching staff isn't scared to call out the players, youre either going to go into a shell or man up and try to surpass expectations... I'm sure Corn is going to do just that, and by the time Summer camp tolls around he may have trained himself up into being an elite level #1 corner.... I was just saying hes never had to be that before until now so its a new challenge for him. So this talk about him already being a #1 corner really came out of nowhere not bc he's sucked before but he's never been the #1 corner. Always in a rotation either at nickel or field.

Corns prettydecent imo, i wouldnt have offered though. Hes still a cane and i hope he does well but lets not act like dudes a first rounder. Miami is about first rounders and thats the caliber of athlete i expect here. Im spoiled

This chick loves her some Franchise.

Problem is he is not a great #1 corner. He is a great #2 corner and a good #1 . (LOL @ the posters who say he is "decent" corner and a "solid" nickel)

Lets not get too carried away here. Diaz needs him to be a great #1 in order for the defense to work and he is not there yet. Esp since we dont have a #2 or #3 worth talking about at the moment.

Its early. If this were Fall ball I would be concerned. After Saturday you wont hear from anyone for 4 months because it will be the offseason. He has got time to get his **** together.

I am not ready to crown anyone after we just finished getting beat by Wash St just 4 months ago. Change dont happen that fast.

If Diaz needs a bunch of CBs better than Corn for his defense to work, then his defense is ****.

I didnt imply that. I said we dont have a legit #2 or #3 corner behind him. I dont know what MJackson can do. And Redwine hasnt really been thrown into the fire yet. So who knows if he is even a prime time player or not.

Reality is, if we are going to play aggressive, he has to be able to hold his own against Travis Rudolph, Torii Hunter/Corey Robinson, and whatever other #1 Wideouts he will be going against this year. If he cant, then you are right, the defense will be ****.

There is nothing great about corn. How can you call him great when he has never really did **** to be called great.

I said he is a great #2 corner. Which he is.

Amazing how all of a sudden Corn is the whipping boy but this time last year people thought he was the second coming and that Tracy shouldnt sniff the field because it was taking away his minutes.

Rumph said he reminded him of Duane Starks. Thats all I need to hear.

I may be mistaken, but from what little I've seen and heard, the coaches want an all-out effort on every play every practice.

We've had several years of players taking off on plays, and it was pathetic.

Anything less than all-out every play, and our current coaches are not happy.

I guess I'm not either.

What has he done to be called a great number 2? I been said i felt corn was over rated. Rumph has said all the cbs are good. He has not said anything bad about any of them. I dont think rumph is trying to put them on blast like that. Apparently diaz dont give a **** and just says what he feels.

Corn is a good corner but not a true number 1 corner. Losing byrd hurt bad.
So Byrd, a guy who Tennessee moved to Safety, is a number 1 CB but Corn isn't.

You scouts with your dopey catchphrases crack me up. Now, we're getting flooded with "number 1 CB" nonsense.

Corn Elder is a playmaker. He's not just a CB, he can impact a game in many ways. Diaz will soon find out.

He was our leading tackler from the position last season, second in INTs behind Artie, and is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Some of this nonsense I just attribute to people being bored. Fall can't get here fast enough.
