Look at the comments on this message board. Just a few weeks back the Herd was calling for Manny to ascend to the head coach position, and then when he was appointed the so-called "Cane Nation" went into their normal meltdown mode.

By now, Manny's smart enough to know that he will never please that crowd, so he's going to build rock-solid relationships with his players, their parents, UM administrators, donors and BOT.

So, he sure as **** wasn't talking to "Cane Nation", but if it makes you feel better to believe that, than so be it!

People wanted Manny to cut his teeth at Temple, & maybe hire him in a few years.
No one predicted a CMR resignation & be hired immediately..
 
You m'fers keep negging. As you can tell by my response bar I am not one to troll or post outlandish stuff. I just posted a question that may have some merit given the circumstances. Thanks to the posters that have at least responded with commentary whether in agreement or not instead of you chicken **** posters that have nothing substantive to offer except goofy emoticons.

I hope I'm wrong and want Manny to be successful. But anything short of a Fedora type hire, or some combo of Applewhite with a co-OC/qb coach like Dorsey/Coley/Ponce, etc. willl be disappointing, given the hype Manny himself propagated on national tv.

Right now I am thinking he is acting like the excited virgin that ends up with the beautiful girl in his bed and prematurely ejaculates during foreplay.

If I am wrong I will gladly take my lumps and continue a willing passenger on the hype train. If I am right I expect all you smoochers who negged me to come back and french kiss my salty Cuban @ss!

He certainly raised expectations a few notches. That first sounded to me like Fedora. Maybe things, like in the recruiting world, have quickly changed and he may have to settle for a little less than expected and a decent hire may now be viewed as a big disappointment.

if u heard him today he says the 4th guy would of been a great hire at oc and he is down to 3 so to him they are all great hires lol who we might think is a great hire may differ from what diaz thinks though

I will wait and see what happens. He set up the expectations so he needs to deliver. So far he hasn't done anything wrong so I am not going to put the cart before the horse.
