D'Eriq King tears his ACL

Here's a solution to not having the best QB since Dorsey at the helm for Alabama.

FIX THE **** PROGRAM.

HIRE A COMPETENT DC AND LET HIM BRING HIS STAFF

DESTROY THE CULTURE OF PLAYING UPPERCLASSMEN

HAVE MORE THAN ONE RUN PLAY

Ffs man

That's what I mean by trying to hard. You're trying to prove yourself. That's not how people who actually have money and power behave.

That's how beta-males act. You look up to rich people and want to be one. It's not what you are.

I’m not trying to prove myself, I have nothing to prove, I’m just pointing out what a fūcking poser you are. I’m just here to stomp you down and put you in your place - which I’ve already done.

Are you ready to put up, or are you just going to shut up? I’m ready if you are.

You’re the one that started with the “you couldn’t afford me“ bullshot. So either put up, or shutup, and stop derailing this thread

Is it a full tear or partial tear? Would make a a massive difference in recovery time.
Not true. He will need surgery with either type of tear if he wants to play football again. For the surgery, it requires a graft (from patella (strongest graft- ~8% retear rate but slowest recovery), hamstring (~20% retear rate, weakens hamstring) , or cadaver (quicker recovery, but higher chance of retear -- ~30%) ... and they will cut out the torn acl. I predict he will get the patella graft. Then, he will have to wait for the graft to fuse in to the bone while rehabbing the atrophied muscles. That is why it takes months to get back on the field. There is also some crazy statistics that once you tear one acl, you may tear the other acl (ie: Frank Gore).

A partial tear is only somewhat good news as opposed to a full tear if your knee still has stability and you won't be playing sports with running and cutting. It will never heal on it's own, but you may not need to do the surgery if you don't want to play high level sports again.

It is one of the risks of playing football and it is a reason why unpaid players opt out. He can bounce back, but it is a long grueling process. I am sure he can handle like he does everything in his life --- with class, perseverance, and toughness. Get well King!

I posted a link to a brand new procedure (BEAR) that doesn't involve removing the torn ACL and has a much faster recovery time. It just got FDA approval a couple weeks ago. Really cool stuff. Going to save people from a lot of reconstructive knee surgeries. Apparently Dr. James Andrews is also doing some new stuff with PRP injections that is speeding recovery significantly. From personal experience, a couple years ago I had a PRP injection as a hail mary, last ditch effort to avoid full reconstructive ankle surgery and it was **** near a miracle how fast it worked. I was back to full strength in less than 3 months, instead of the 8-10 months min it would have taken for the full invasive surgery.

On a totally unrelated note- isn't weird that literally every time an athlete has a knee injury, he sees Dr. James Andrews? That guy must have Jeff Bezos money from all the athletes he's treated.

I almost feel sorry for you. You're definitely trying to prove yourself - it's clear as day.

You know what... I hope you do make it big someday, and you know what actual self-confidence feels like. I didn't start this flame war and I have nothing against you personally. I just call things plainly as I see them. Just like I do with the Miami football program.

Why not if he is ready?
Bc ive never really heard of a 8-9 month full recovery time for an ACL. Plus hes not a pocket passer and we owe the kid the best chance of succeeding. To rush him back with basically no offseason to physically improve, against that team is a disservice.

What happens if TVD or Garcia (or even Perry given how good he looked in the bowl game) balls out against Bama and we somehow pull off the impossible? Do we give the reins back to King when he’s healthy? I’m in no way downplaying his injury. This really sucks and I really hope he gets healthy and comes back better than ever. Just thinking out loud

And here it is- the first “what if” post for Bama.

You should probably go ahead and plan for a complete disaster. Saban will have a whole off season to prep against an over matched- way under coached- Miami squad.

Please don’t start this kid vs. Bama. We’re not beating them regardless of who starts and there’s no point in rushing him back from a major injury like this.

Wait till people see Miami’s shiit OL against those grown men for Bama. King would get crushed back there trying to evade the pressure on a gimp knee.

Ain’t a snowballs chance in **** he will be ready for Bama. What kind of math we using here? And why would we possibly do that to him?
Agree man, people on here are idiots! I’m physical therapist and in no way shape or form is a kid gonna tear his ACL in basically January and be back for game one at the end of August. Smh no team/university in the world is gonna allow a kid to do that because that would be gross negligence! Especially on a knee that’s already been damaged via MCL. This isn’t the NFL and there is only one Adrian Peterson. It’s a year rehab give or take for anyone except AP and that’s what it’ll be for king, maybe we see him the month of December but if he’s smart he just rehabs and trains for the combine and draft. Because it’s not worth it especially if your physically fine but still mentally don’t trust it because that’s how you get hurt again. For gods sake it took Clay Thompson over a year rehab and I can Guarantee he was still compensating on it a bit which more then likely contributed to him tearing his Achilles on the other leg.

How come you haven’t heard of it? A lot of guys are coming back in that time frame now. Clemson wr tore his acl in 2019 in late March and only missed 1 game that year. It all depends on how severe it is. For them to being saying fall camp it must not be as severe
