David Feeley & S&C: Miami is much Smaller, far less physical, slower and less intimidating than Bama

Lol. There’s a reason why guys who are 6’4” 250 with 4.5 speed are usually 5 star recruits. They’re an anomaly. For 99% of the athletes in the world, you can be very big or very fast but usually not both. We tried to get guys as big as possible under Golden and we just looked slow. It’s not like strength coaches are like “let’s keep these guys as small as possible because…..derp”. You want really big, really athletic guys? Recruit better players.

Miami is much smaller, less physical, slower and far less intimidating than Alabama. Some of this is a coaching philosophy thing, some of it the fact that we don’t tackle to the ground in practice (huge mistake, IMO), but how is this not an indictment of the S&C??

This team is not even close to being intimidating, and we were so much smaller and less physical than Alabama, it was shocking to see. And Alabama isn’t a one-off.

Even UNC was faaaaar more physical and stronger than Miami last season. Clemson was far stronger and more physical.

Idk he turned Jalean Phillips into a monster. Same with GR 15.

A lot of this falls to having genetic freaks of nature…. But one thing that is rarely brought up is nutrition. What’s going into their bodies…. Performance is like 55% Nutrition…. 15% rest… 30% working out/repetition/etc. Getting enough protein… appropriate fats and carbs over time is key…

Maybe we shouldn’t be crushing up sugar cereal in the protein shakes.

All jokes aside this team lacks functional strength. It’s very easy to see when it takes 3 people to tackle one player. Get no push off the ball on either line and get blown up on the outside on bubbles and wr screens. You can’t blame size when RBs smaller than our defenders are running them over.

If they had that DE at Bama u don't have to do anything special he will put on the right nutrition lift and ball. There isn't a special weight lifting device just go get strong. Those guys that build castles out of dirt on YouTube the real Minecraft dudes have no weights and they build luxury Minecraft houses at an explosive rate.

I just thought about this, we just had two first round DEs leave our program. Both, at a time during their collegiate careers, physically looked closer to basketball players than a football player. This weekend, they both will be starting in their first NFL game.

FEELEY AINT THE ISSUE

And if you're going to compare his results to BAMAs, which I already think is completely unfair, let's see what James Williams and Leonard Talyor look like in 2 years.

Ole Miss and UL players all looked fuggin jacked Monday night. Not sure how many guys we have that are legit cut from stone or does that really matter? Just seems both teams were filled with them and we have Cam Harris.

Feeley can only work with what groceries Diaz and the staff stock him with. I really don't think we looked that small compared to Bama, the only glaring issue was at LB and DE. Which both of those positions have been poorly recruited.
