DAILY DEBATE: Who is ranked too high or too low?

Too High
- UGA
- Oregon
- Illinois
- Michigan
- South Carolina
- K ST
- TAMU

Too Low
- SMU
- Ole Miss
- TTech
- Iowa ST
- USC
- Mizzou
- Memphis
- Baylor

I knew you'd have UGA as too high, and I agree. Your disdain for them is freaking awesome!

We're too high. we should be anywhere from 13-15.

Uf too high... they should be anywhere in the 20s

Smu, Ttu, ole miss ...too low

It's common sense as I see it.

If I am to believe the offseason narratives about why their season turned out the way it did, I don't see how they can't be labeled as too high for a preseason AP top 25.

They allegedly didn't have an OL, run game, or good WR's, plus lost supposedly the best QB in the Nation, how on Earth could they be ranked in the top 5 coming into this season?

They're already hurt, though.

Lagway isn't 100%. Dallas Wilson is in a cast. Tre Wilson is already hurt and that kid gets hurt breathing.

I think they'll be a lot better this year too, though. Much like us, it's tough to stink if you're good on both lines, and I think they'll be good on both lines. But yes, the schedule is rough, I think they can be one of the best 15 teams in the country and go 8-4. But I like Lagway, I like their OL, I like their receivers a lot (provided they're healthy, which they're not).

The game here against them is going to be a dogfight. My biggest reason for optimism is Billy's insistence on calling plays. His offense sucks, and he won't give up play-calling duty. Would be nice for LSU to beat the **** out of them the week before, too.
Agreed on Billy's play calling.
Their RBs are really good as well.
This ain't gonna be 2024.
I do think their secondary can be had.

Could see it going both ways. Sophomore seasons can be tough on QBs plus Sanders was a beast for them last year (Rocket and TJ)

But then you got guys like Stewart getting better and maybe Sellers continues to improve

Skeptical whether Beamer is a top 10 coach type guy though. Same way I feel about Mario though
Very true, sometimes real talent can hide coaching gaps

I dont know, but you had them as ranked too high.

Where do you think they should be?
Between 16-25.

I think they have some talented players & could finish the season as one of the better teams in the SEC, but for a preseason top 25 ranking, top 15 was too high IMO.

based on recruiting, resources, etc. UGA, Bama, OSU, Texas, and Oregon should be 1-5 and shouldnt lose a game until they play each other or the coach stinks.

This honestly feels like a year where you can make the argument that everyone is too high or too low.

Clemson is maybe one of the only teams where the ranking just feels right.

Every other team either has a ton of players they're replacing or QB questions. Total cr*pshoot right now IMO.

Which sets up perfectly for us when you consider we have Beck at the helm.
I agree all these first year starters in the top 5 is crazy talk.

I don’t care about Caleb Downs and Jeremiah Smith. OSU was ooollldd along the lines last season. They lost a lot and are starting a freshman QB with minimal game experience. There will be growing pains and the B1G isn’t quite the cakewalk it used to be. I expect them to take step back and be a fringe playoff team. Sayin could develop as the year goes on and earn this ranking but they will not be the 3rd best team in the country over the 1st 8 weeks. I would say this about all of the teams starting true or redshirt freshman. Texas, UGA, Oregon, ND, Bama. Times have changed and these teams don’t have the same overwhelming depth they used to have even if they are still recruiting in the top 5 yr over yr. Starting QBs are going to matter much more in an environment with more parity in the second team units.

The ACC is being disrespected yet again. GT is good, they nearly beat UGA after beating us, they have a nice schedule and could be a real thorn in our sides. All these mid tier P2 teams like Illinois, UF, USCe, Indiana getting the benefit of the doubt is status quo but really nonsense at least one of these teams will drop a g5 game like they always do.

I think my take away from this season more than anything is we really have no clue who will be what since so many of the blue bloods are going with green signal callers.

There is no clear cut top 10 just 20ish teams capable of making a run.

None of the rankings matter anymore

Most of these teams are already in the playoff and some, Miami included, have much less room for error

Alabama is too low. Texas tech probably too low. Auburn should be on there.

Illinois, S Carolina, probably ASU too high.

They're not sneaky. Everyone I
Listen to thinks they're loaded but that they'll be a victim of their schedule. It is brutal.
But on paper, if Lagway is who they thing he is, they're pretty loaded. Not as many 1st year transfers helps continuity. Both lines are top 10 and are big.
Disagree on the Lines. Their C is fantastic, but the rest of the line is less consistent than people think. Additionally, the biggest issue people overlook is Billy. He’s still a mediocre gameday coach, and we saw that they were last yea.
