Dabo to the Texans?

I heard the only reason they fired O'Brien is because Dabo told Easterby he'd do it if they could hold out until after the championship without saying anything.

Guess they didn't do a good job of not saying anything if you heard that....

Where on earth are you guys getting this Dabo> Houston talk? Checked some boards, reddit, etc and don't see anything on that - legit

Really? Try Google. Lots of articles. Dabo has even been asked the question directly.

1. Dabo is an IDIOT if he leaves Clemson for the NFL.

2. Dabo is a racist that can't even handle his college players speaking out on social issues, he'd lose his **** mind & go full Nathan Bedford Forrest if he had to be an NFL coach.

Thank goodness the NFL has never had any racist coaches.

Dominoes have already fallen, gentlemen.

Dabo to the Texans. Sabag to Clemson. Rhett Lashlee to Baga. Jon Gruden to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Dabo leaving is a game changer. Would put Miami in an amazing spot to take over the reigns.

Why would he leave for an inferior gig?

Ego. To prove once and for all he's better than Saban, who completely flopped in the NFL. It's a lot easier to win at a place like Bama, Clemson, and LSU when the NCAA turns a blind eye to cheating and you can buy every top recruit. You actually have to have some coaching ability to succeed in the NFL (and it doesn't hurt to cheat as well, like Belicheck) Only 3 coaches have won a SB and NC: Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, and Pete Carroll. With Dabo's college success plus a super bowl ring, and I'd rank him ahead of Saban.

I could see it from Dabo's perspective.

He goes to the NFL for a new challenge.

Even if (when) he flames out, he'll be a hot commodity in college.

P5 programs will be lining up for a guy with two national championship rings.
Yeah. Like Dennis Erickson.

Miami is it's own worst enemy. If they hire the right coach it doesn't matter what dabo or any coach for that matter does. Swiney is just lucky Blake has largely been in charge of hiring coaches at Miami.

Every decision in life comes down to 2 things: cash and creative. He either has to feel like he deserves more money (he obviously doesn't need more money) or he has to feel like winning at Clemson (say he wins again this year) has become boring. Some coaches (Urby) figured out the NFL world isn't their cup of tea. Meyer had his time off btwn UF and OSU to investigate that up close, he knew mf'ing an NFL player would only go so far vs a college kid. Dabo might find he can't sing folk country in an NFL locker room and have anyone give a ****.

Not being an X/O guy works in Dabo’s favor, as he may be a good CEO-type. Would he be able to work with/for a GM, or would he insist the GM work for him? Wanting full control has been a mistake for almost every HC.

Pairing Dabo with a solid NFL organization could be a success. So, no to Cleveland, the Jets, and other organizations constantly turning over HCs and GMs. Atlanta could be a possibility. Rich McKay runs a solid group, but Dan Quinn hasn’t panned out since blowing a SB against the Patriots.

Another possible reason Dabo leaves is threat of NCAA sanctions, like Carroll and USC. Clemson is a sacred cow, so unless some major revelations and scandals come to light I don’t see this in Clemson’s future.

Note: Carroll’s $35M guarantee from Seahawks then-owner Paul Allen surely helped Carroll reach his decision.

dont think hes a pro style coach. the fit isnt there and hes not exactly an X and Os guy either which is kinda the trend with new HC hires (the innovative hires at least in terms of the offensive game)
