Curt Cignetti names Miami as one of the six NIL spenders

He names Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Miami are spending at an unfair level.

“I mean if you want to be the best, you’ve got to be able to compete against the best… Right now, I understand it is Oregon, Ohio State, Texas… Texas Tech is because of its oil money. I think Notre Dame’s up there pretty good right now, too. Miami, of course.”

Curt Cignetti needs to stfu & rely on them X's & O's he's so good at. broke boys pocket watching smh

How are we spending so much and achieving so little in comparison???
I'd say it's two things: some self-inflicted mistakes (Georgia Tech kneeldown, staff misfires) and the need to rebuild the brand. Georgia and Alabama aren't top spenders because they don't need to be. We're trying to rebuild a roster that had massive holes in 2022 and a brand that has been in the toilet for two decades.

Cignetti can stfu. Last year's Indiana team was the most overrated team in the nation.

They played 6 of the 7 worst teams in the B1G standings, Michigan (which finished 7th in the B1G), and OSU who beat them by more than 3 TD.

Their best non-conference opponent went 5-7, and the 3 went a combined 13-23. They played 2 ranked teams and lost by double digits to both of them.

He’s not wrong.$45ish million for last year and this year better get us at least one ACC championship appearance

I am confused as to why people on CIS don’t applaud every time we are referred to as a big NIL spender. I agree with @RVACane that we haven’t yet seem results commensurate with our spending. But I also agree with @DMoney that UM (and Texas Tech) were starting from a different place than OSU and the others when NIL became a reality.

But in short, I want UM to have the reputation of spending a lot as it resonates with players. And I believe that it will pay off soon.

GOOD!!! I love it!

It's all legal now. It's great we're spending money. Money attracts high level players. Why is it a bad thing if he called out UM for this??

(Edit: Yes, our ROI should be higher. But it's great we're known for a spending investment in NIL!)
