Curt Cignetti names Miami as one of the six NIL spenders

Why is anyone mad about this? You think recruits hear this and will be less interested in Miami?

Right lol

"Sorry Mario, Not interested. Cignetti said that your a top spender in NIL. I want to stay broke so no thanks on the interest"

He names Oregon, Texas, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Miami are spending at an unfair level.

“I mean if you want to be the best, you’ve got to be able to compete against the best… Right now, I understand it is Oregon, Ohio State, Texas… Texas Tech is because of its oil money. I think Notre Dame’s up there pretty good right now, too. Miami, of course.”

No coach. In order to be the best, you need to BEAT the best.....not **** and moan that you can't compete with the best. If those schools are doing something illegal, you may have a point. If it's legal, you're just a whiny *****.

Oddly no mention of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, etc. - big spenders before you could be a legit big spender.

Good! We are a wealthy school and I’m glad we are finally prioritizing football and spending like a five-time national championship program should be spending. Haters are gonna hate, who cares, let them. And soon we’ll be raising trophies!

Who cares what that idiot says. As if we were doing something wrong! What a maroon!

God we are so close...I mean if we can get to the playoff this year or at worst get into the ACC Champ and a big bowl game we might get back to full fledged national hate. Everyone making it seem like we are the only ones. I'm convinced coaches are telling guys to do this...try to stop any potential momentum moving forward.

The negative recruiting on Mario has been turned up this year and a lot of it is justified. A lot is on the line for this season for various reasons. Mario needs this new staff to coach out of their minds and exceed expectations.

Fair.

I would also like to say that Curt Cignetti accused me of having a bigger ***** than any of the coaches in the Big 10, and I am not going to argue with him on this matter.

I am confused as to why people on CIS don’t applaud every time we are referred to as a big NIL spender. I agree with @RVACane that we haven’t yet seem results commensurate with our spending. But I also agree with @DMoney that UM (and Texas Tech) were starting from a different place than OSU and the others when NIL became a reality.

But in short, I want UM to have the reputation of spending a lot as it resonates with players. And I believe that it will pay off soon.
It's good publicity.

Don’t think people are even aware of what OSU does with former players

They just pretty much put them on a payroll somewhere

If you’re good enough you have a job at OSU for life basically
