Cristobal AD search news

Josh Pate on 247 was just talking about Miami and Cristobal. He said that when Miami folks say that money won't be an option they are talking mainly about coaching salaries. He says that Oregon's commitment to Mario is much bigger than that. Phil Knight and the AD give him everything that he asks for. When he asked for access to private jets for his entire staff, they gave it to him. He thinks that there is no way that UM can match all of the benefits provided by Oregon.
He’s not wrong. I’d have to imagine if these fools are serious they’d find a way to get some planes. You may not be able to build an underwater jacuzzi weight room but stuff like salaries and basic stuff of top tier programs. I’d be shocked if the powers at be don’t get that.

I mean David Lake, says they’ve got over seven figures for the athletics in 24 hours. If they are serious about going all in, go all the f*ck in.

If mario decided to stay at oregon this year because of private jets and financial support, then why would he ever leave?

Oregon will always be able to match anyone so you're telling that he would stay at oregon forever if he could? I just don't see it.

Assuming that Mario is the guy and we go all out for him, this decision won't come down to dollars and cents, private jets, etc. I don't think he's too concerned with all of that. I think it'll come down to his principles and his loyalty to UM and the city vs. his loyalty and commitment to his current players. I don't know the guy nor will I probably ever meet him, but he seems like a person who values his relationships above all else. JMO

This Alonzo stuff isn’t what I like hearing. Has this school learned anything? So we are going to hire zo to oversee football then go out and hire an AD who is okay with that? Why can’t this program do its due diligence and get out of it’s own way? We are still running things like a country club. It’s a game of who with the most ties can get a job here. It’s honestly tiresome. Go out and actually do a national search. Stop making these decisions based on peers and connections. We just do things the totally wrong way.
or maybe just maybe we are on the cutting edge and following programs like Bama and Indiana in basketball into the future.

Stop yelling at clouds asshat.

LeBatard mentioned Jim Frevola, currently with the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) as Team SVP & Sales Officer as a potential AD candidate.

Used to be with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Also was at UFC with Dana White as their VP of Marketing Partnerships.

Also was at Lincoln Financial Media responsible for media sales at radio stations for the Miami Heat, Cleveland Browns, Dolphins & Marlins.

He graduated from the University of Miami and worked at UM as an associate AD from 2007-2010.
Yikes

Oregon couldn’t keep Willie Taggart.

The biggest concern with Mario isn’t the facilities. It’s the players he recruited. He wants to coach them and believes he can win big. That’s what we need to overcome.

Well if he’s committed to the players and has that type of loyalty we might be in trouble

It's a dumb mindset. I’m sure Nebraska has private jets, great facilities and boosters who won’t say no.

He needs to lose a game or two honestly to improve our chances.

It’s a lose lose lol. I agree with you though, them losing and not making the playoffs helps us a ton from a timing POV but them losing also will bring out the anti Mario’s to the 10th degree and claiming he is the worst coach in America for going 10-2. I really don’t want every thread clogged up with that **** lol.

GET AS MANY TO TRANSFER & HIGH SCHOOL RECRUITS TO DELAY SIGNING UNTIL EVERYTHING IS SET FOR MIAMI ☺️😉

His recruiting class coming in is about to take Oregon to another level. It’s ridiculous. He needs to realize that he needs to do that at home.

Flo reporting there is a big obstacle stopping Mario from coming. Sounds like it’s Nike related and won’t be easy to overcome. TIFWIW.

He’s lost 1 game this year in OT

Every other they’ve handled business pretty easily including beating OSU in the horseshoe

If he loses 1 other close one, which could def happen Saturday night at Utah, I don’t think it blemishes him that much to the fan base

He can win out and those fools will still come out in full force, like Miami doesn’t lose six games a **** year they shouldn’t but Mario loses one.

You clearly haven't followed Oregon games. They've been in as many rock fights as we have.

My fear as well! But as others have said he needs a loss to realize that Oregon will never bring him over the hump. In fact I think they’re freshmen at Miami right nowthat would help him win a national championship at Oregon that’s how powerful the brand is when it’s going good.

1.) I disagree with the pretty easily, lol. He has been in some battles and those battles have been discussed hundreds of times on this board.

2.) It definitely will be a blemish to many. There are several posters on this board who think it’s ridiculous that he can’t run the table in the Pac-12. I mean think that it’s an absolute coaching disgrace for him to not go undefeated so to lose not 1, but 2 games?!! He might as well be Randy Shannon according to some, real talk. They are WAITING on him to lose another one so they can run right to this very forum and add another file to their “he ain't all that case”. I’m telling you lol.
