Could Miami win a title with an all south Florida roster?

Here is how your starters would've looked last year on offense:

QB- Lamar Jackson
RB- Sony Michel/Mark Walton/Travis Homer
WR- Calvin Ridley
WR- Marquise "Hollywood" Brown
WR- Tre'Quan Smith (third round pick)
TE- Ravian Pierce
OT- Yodney Cajuste (projected high NFL pick)
OT- Reggie Bain (projected NFL pick, All-Conference)
OG- Navaughn Donaldson (freshman AA)
OG- Kc McDermott (Jaguars practice squad)
C- Chris Gaynor (current starter for TCU)

That offense is putting up an enormous amount of points, especially with an innovative spread mind.

On defense, this is what you'd be looking at:

DE- Nick Bosa
DE- Brian Burns/Joe Jackson
DT- RJ McIntosh
DT- Lamonte McDougle (freshman AA)
LB- Devin Bush
LB- Skai Moore (day 1 starter for Colts)
CB- DeAndre Baker
CB- Carlton Davis
CB- Reshad Fenton
S- Jaquan Johnson
S- Julian Battle

Good luck throwing on that team. Best pass rush in the nation, best DBs in the nation and a LB crew that flies.

This team would win the national championship.

So in the dream So Fla roster, 5 of the 22 likely starters actually signed with Miami, 2 of those being Irvin and McDermott and with Jaquan and McIntosh iffy as future NFL guys. Navaughn the only 5 star type, and he's being forced to play at a position where he clearly isn't a 5 star player. There's a recipe for a program whose fans are destined to spend a lot of time writing 'what might have been' threads on recruiting boards.

Crazy when you think about that @DMoney! That group is insane. I think we should definitely look at the top QB in tri-county every year to prevent the Lamar Jackson’s, Teddy Bs, and Geno Smiths of the world from leaving if we can’t hit a big time national QB.

I replaced Irvin with Ravian Pierce (who is legit), so make that 4 out of 22. Not good.

Swagger we can never lock down all of south Florida in today’s game but there is so much talent here that landing plan B kids still fields and elite roster. Look at the guys @DMoney just named you could argued several of those guys are plan B and C kids from their respective classes.

The secondary, WR, and RB group would be the best in the country year in and year out.

I made the thread just as a hypothetical of course. Just to see the amount of talent in this area. There are schools that hit on most of their in state and local targets like USC. But that hasn’t amounted to anything for them since 2004.

For Miami it would be a N.C. or at least playoff caliber roster.

It would take a lot of time, but I'd love to go back and see a review of how each player's recruitment played out and how hard we pursued them.

Obvious we just got beat out/bought out on Ridley, Sony, Bosa, etc. but it sure seems like a lot of those guys should've been Canes.

Not sure why its even a question

Do you think it’s possible for Miami to win a N.C. ONLY with S. Florida players given the talent in the tri-county.

Thread is more recognizing the amount of talent down here than saying oh we missed this guy and that guy.

Also made because many fans say we don’t have to leave south Florida for recruits. So in this case we could actually build a roster like dmoney did to see if that’s a realistic possibility.

Imagine a world where top South Florida recruits actually wanted to rep their home town because they have pride in where they are from and what this culture represents. Nope, can't imagine that.

I think it was the old USFL football league had a territorial draft, where a team could protect teams from college programs in their states. Lets make this a political item this year. Constitutional amendment: "College teams own every player within a 50 mile radius." That will make UM, Houston, Georgia Tech, USC, UCLA top powers.

You'd be more that deficient annually at QB, OL, DT and K.

And I say that as someone that'll fight the clowns in Texas, California, Louisiana and Georgia when they claim to have equal or better high school football.

An all Florida team yes but an all Tri county team would lack depth in the trenches and at QB; the two most important aspects of football.

Offense : Crack

Defense: Cocaine

Crack Cocaine boys.. ain't no body stopping us before that hit after every possession change

We need to end the myth about South Florida QBs. Here are your starting QBs since 2012:

2012- Geno Smith
2013- Teddy Bridgewater
2014- Brandon Doughty (leading passer in nation, drafted by Dolphins)
2015- Winky Flowers
2016- Lamar Jackson
2017- Lamar Jackson

You'd be more that deficient annually at QB, OL, DT and K.

South Florida produces a ton of kickers and punters. Last year, we would've had Eddie Pineiro (Radiers) and Justin Vogel, who was a stud for us.

Like I said above, that 2017 roster wins the national title going away.
