MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread(Its still personal)

It’s not a university level choice. NCAA standard that has been set unfortunately
All depends on if the NCAA is still around setting the rules. One place we could potentially improve is having NIL help guys that only get half scholarships in baseball. It's such a burden for most guys to pay half tuition at a private school compared to an in-state school.

Totally fair point. FSU is not a hot commodity

Thank all of the gods in every religion that Miami is on the upswing. I would be a giant mope if we were navigating these waters with Manny and Blake
Although football is king, this is not just about football. 10 of the top 20 baseball attendance teams are SEC. Add in Texas and OU and it is 12 out of 20. Flipping softball draws 1500 for a conference game. UF gymnastics draws over 9,000 a meet. FSU is good in a lot of sports regardless of sucking in football right now.

Perfect solution to preserve 4 power conferences:

Pac 12
Arizona
Arizona State
UC-Berkeley
Colorado
Oregon
Oregon State
Stanford
Utah
Washington
Washington State
ADD: Baylor
ADD: Kansas
ADD: Kansas State
ADD: Oklahoma State
ADD: TCU
ADD: Texas Tech
ADD: BYU
ADD: Houston

(if you go past 18, possibly add from Iowa State, Boise State, Colorado State, UNLV, San Diego State, Utah State, Wyoming, SMU, New Mexico, New Mexico State)

ACC
BC
Clemson
Duke
F$U
GaTech
Louisville
Miami
North Carolina
NC State
Pitt
Syracuse
UVa
VaTech
Wake Forest
ADD: Notre Dame
ADD: Cincinnati
ADD: UCF
ADD: USF

(If you go past 18, possibly add from West Virginia, Memphis, Temple)

Create 3 6-team pods in each conference. Merge TV networks. Set up cross-conference OOC games (or maybe each pod plays 5 pod games, 2 conference games, and two cross-conference games).
THis is not enough power teams to strengthen the media deal, sadly

It has been surprising that Oregon wasn't higher up on these lists. There a lot of schools in the two power conferences that have a very good reason to support their add. That Bovada line makes sense.

Pac-12 trying to make the partnership with the ACC happen. The ACC is trying to see how they can just grab Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and Cal without voiding the current grant of rights contract (they can't)
So if the DO grab one program, that voids the GOR and it is up for total renegotiation? Wow. Phil Knight stated he wants Oregon to head to either the BIG Ten or SEC. Not a lot of realistic support anywhere for this "alliance".

Things move and are processed a little slower in Iowa. "We are not seeking applications" is also very loose language.

Even IF the B1G does desire a slow pace of expansion here (not something I think they do since they're in the midst of tv deal negotiations), it's no longer something they can control. They fired a shot directly back at the SEC (and eSECpn) with the acquisition of the LA schools and that simply won't go unanswered.

This is a war that only ends one way now- with 2 super-conferences. The only way it wouldn't is if the cream of the crop of the remaining ACC, Pac-10 & Big 12 schools formed their own super-conference (not some "loose" alliance) and added Notre Dame.....and that ain't happening.

I've slightly debated UNC here but Kansas and Cincy above them is beyond insane. I don't remember but does Bovada cap the amount you can bet on these type of wagers? This seems like one just designed just to go viral and/or just generate a ton of small action.
