CMR: "We gotta fill that stadium" for Ga Tech game

I can't believe people are actually arguing over this, and I can't believe someone said they'd rather watch the game at home.

I buy large chunks of tickets for several away games and I've asked people who live in those cities (who I only know because of the Canes) if they want to go and they say they'd rather watch it on TV.

And I get this response somewhat frequently.

Likewise. The sad thing is, this is S. Fl culture. People don't go to games in S. Fl to admire athleticism they go for entertainment. That's what people forget difers the culture from other areas.

Is the donation thing common to all schools for season tickets? That will solve a lot of the problem. But with regular tickets for 10 bucks for GT there is no excuse. Heat or rain still no excuse. But I’m also having a hard time believing the school when they say that over 50 k season tickets have been sold. I guess a lot of people can just drop coin and then not go? I guess it’s like all those yachts in the marina just sitting there.

They don’t lie about season tickets sold. The number they provide is correct. It’s just that a lot of people don’t show. Whatever the number is this year, I think it’s around 50,000, I’d have to look it up but I know it’s close to that, that is a correct number. They actually did sell those many season tickets.

The donation thing is the same at every school only way worse. I live in TN and we fly to each Miami home game, stay in a hotel and get a rental car all for what it would cost us to have the same seats we have for Miami at UT games.

OCC - I am in that boat, I always buy 4 season tickets but because we are pregnant and fear of zika my wife doesn't go. Sometimes my seat sells sometimes its empty.

In all honesty they're not that expensive especially if you can expense them through a business. I have a buddy who's company has a suite and 10 season tickets, for the big games all are taken for the "un-****" games they're always available.

Tickets are less then a #1 at Mcdonalds. I wish I could go, but I unfortunately can;t make it down there this weekend. I put mine up for sale but it doesn't quite seem like a high demand item. I swear I wish Miami would market these games way better

As someone said earlier, it is a lot worse at other schools. At Ohio State, unless you are a really big donor or longtime season ticket holder, they hold lotteries for half season tickets at ridiculous prices. Miami prices are a bargain compared to many schools.

Over 4000 tix on StubHub and starting at $6. ****, I think we are going to see a whole lot of empty on Sat. Park at a supermarket and Lyft it to the stadium. You won't spend $20 for the day!

It's crazy, sold my extra tickets to Bethune about a week early and saw over 3000 people looking at tickets. Had to drop the Toledo ones for less and they sold 3 days early. I've been dropping prices for a few days now for GT, still unsold and less than both. People looking for tickets hasn't exceeded a little over 1600, makes no sense.

Maybe, if the beat GT, then people will start to believe it's not the same team that's been blowing opportunities the past ten years. Then again, it is South Florida.

I had to drop the price of my Toledo tickets, but the rest of the season has sold with no issues at the prices I wanted them at. My VTECH tickets sold for $110 a pop. Only tickets that haven't sold are my UVA, and Syracuse tickets.

Pure BS. They want "entertainment" like what? Gloria Estefan singing and dancing on the sidelines during the game? The football game IS the entertainment!!!

Guys! It's a big 2019 recruiting weekend, that's why we need to fill the stadium...

List: Josh Sanguinetti, Ge'mon Eaford, Michael Tarquin, Jahmar Brown, Kenny McIntosh, Brion Fuller, Mark Richards, Derick Hunter, Wardrick Wilson, Glover Cook, and Denzel Daxon

2018 guys and 2020 guys will be there too but most are commits and hard leans to us other than Patrick Joyner and Andrew Chatfield

Thanks for all of the responses.
I think marketing the games is a good idea. Maybe some more children’s events pregame. With tickets so low I can’t think of many things cheaper for a family of four or five. Metro Zoo, seaquarium or museums get pricey for bigger families. Also, remember when we didn’t need to market our games cause we were front page news and headlining sports centers. But we all have some form of social media and we can market the game ourselves and tell people where and how to get the cheap tickets.
I think we’re on our way though.

You must have excellent seats and prices. I've dropped GT now lower than both previous. I thought I upgraded when I renewed my season tickets, was in 234 (right in line with our sideline) I changed to 232 which is the center of the end zone. I later realized it was the only no alcohol section in the stadium, figured it could be good or bad. Seems more of a negative now. Those sections are great, covered from all elements, air conditioned terminals and sectioned off from the rest of the stadium with your own bathrooms and concessions but most people don't know that. I upgraded again before the season to the Legends Suite but really the previous sections I was in are the best deal they offer, the ticket rep even said the same.

All these purported Cane warriors in here selling their tickets. LOL. If you're too feeble to actually use your tickets, then give the fcking things away. Is that $6 you get for the ticket really going to make your year for you?

Canes fans raised money multiple times in 2015 for banners.

Any way we can raise enough money to pay people to go to games? Contract fans?
