You are IN SOME DEGREE blaming other people/circumstances for Portis' crime instead blaming Portis solely for his crime. For instance, you are questioning his surroundings and what he's been through as reasons for why Portis committed the crime. When I'm saying, the crime is solely his responsibility regardless of any outside circumstances. He's forty years old. He's not 8 or 16. He's forty years old who committed a crime and is now serving a prison sentence for that crime. He's solely to blame not his associates or what he's been through, or his surroundings.

That’s what u’re not getting: u’re combining two points into a singular thought.

I agree w/ u, he is responsible for HIS actions, his decisions. That’s not the point, b/c that’s clear an obvious.

My point was in direct comment to questioning him being the problem & a “bad person” b/c of a crime he committed. We have never heard of CP being a “bad guy.” My point is the company u keep can get u caught up. Sometimes the company u keep have either a positive or negative influence on u. Sometimes, those negative influences can get u caught up before u even know it. Sometimes, those negative influences can come from w/in ur family or close friends who r like family. It’s not as simple as “they should know better”, nor is it simply black & white or blanketed as u have made it to appear.

40, 50, 75….age is of no never mind. I’m not absolving him of anything, rather explaining how just b/c u get caught up in some bull chit does not mean u r a bad person.

Uhhhhh, that's the same thing that happened to Portis numb nuts. He hired scumbag financial advisors that cost Him most of His His fortune, which is what Rell was alluding to.

I agree with you, 💯 %, and I’m sorry I’ll have to add my influence from childhood plays a major part also…. P-tizzle is also correct with some of his parts, but the brain and human body, with the trauma it’s endured and blocked all his life, plays a major part, too.

I’m 52, and should know better, but in my mid 40’s chit happened in my life that depression and anxiety took over, and I know right from wrong, but sometimes you just don’t give a fvck.

Life is life, it’s what you make of it. CP has been through a lot of chit in his life and he’ll just have to stand by his decisions whether good or bad. I happened to luck out, THANK GOD!
Trauma, anxiety, luck, family, friends (that you think), and other stuff plays a major part in life.

And of course He owes child support, He's broke thanks to His scumbag "financial advisors". **** I have a homeboy who had to pay child support because His wife filled out the wrong info on some papers when She went to DCF, His wife!!! She was no good anyway so thankfully He divorced the triflin' a$$ *****.

There were several athletes that were conned out of money, Portis wasn't the only one. And Portis was introduced to one of the scumbags by former Hurricane Rod Mack. These conmen actually took out a $500K loan on a house Portis bought for His Mom unbeknownst to Portis, and they didn't serve a second in prison.

I don't care who you trust, you're a special kind of dumb to squander that much money.

Additionally, you know you've got a problem when you ring up nearly 300k to MGM Grand Casino. That alone should've been his wakeup call.

Just put that money in bonds and live like a King for life.
He left early to buy his mom a home, now owes his mom 500,000 dollars.
If he came back his senior year, we win the National Championship easy and Willis McGahee doesn't blow out his knee.
 
Honestly, he was convicted of fraud, so he's got to do time. Whether he is a good guy or a bad guy, I leave to his future actions in his life to decide.

Likely, he'll do more time with Jussie Smollett, which he had Chicago PD waste 212k for his fake hate crime. Not only did he have a police department waste a lot of resources in an area that needs to use its resources as efficently as possible, but he hurt people that really were victims of hate crimes because now, people will say, "Oh, are you doing what Jussie was doing?"

To me, stealing 100k, vs. possibly inciting riots and wasting 212k, they gotta be in the same ballpark, imo.
