It can be a bad pick, but in the grand scheme of things if you're running an NFL franchise and you don't have a Qb, you're ****ed. It's better to take big swings than small swings is my point. Ultimately you have to make smart decisions though. My point was relative to some other Qb options though. Obviously the correct choice is to take the guy that has it all. The QBs drafted after Anthony Richardson were Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, haener, Stetson bennet, aidan oconnell, clayton tune, DTR... the 2 taken ahead were Bryce Yong and CJ Stroud. You have a top 4 pick and a critical Need at QB... Takes 2 to tango to trade down. I don't think anyone was thinking Richardson was some high likelihood hit. It was fully about the hope that you have quite literally the most athletic well built qb of all time basically, with a very strong arm, and you'd hope hed get more accurate and get the mental right. But the top problem honestly is drafting Qbs who don't have the requisite starting experience. From HS+CFB Guys should honestly probably have Like Min 50 starts. So no QB drafted high can be a bad pick as long as they’re athletic with a big arm?…
But the idea that because some Qbs that have gone top 5 have sucked is some irrelevant indicator of Qb talent is ******* stupid.
Like this year If I were drafting a Qb, I'd probably swing on Mateer or Sawyer Robertson. After them I'd probably be Mendoza or Beck, but I do think Allar is the bigger swing. After them I'd go Ty Simpson, Klubnik, Maverick McIvor, Jalon Daniels, or Noah Fifita (major size concerns though). Nussmeier, Luke Altmyer, Blake Shapen after them... I think Sellers, Dante Moore, Leavitt, Maiava, Hoover, Mensah, Nico, Arch, etc all return.
