Having a preseason number one ranked team and finishing the season at 7-6 is a big red flag for me. I would be against the hiring.

It would be a huge gamble.
There is very little to point to to say he would be successful if given his fourth chance at it.
 
MIAMI has got to be about spending $4-6 million a year and up in order to get a proven coach who can get the results you want.

Is this administration serious about winning? We'll see.

Charlie Strong would be a nice hire.
 
Strong would kill it but I think it's a pipe dream just like Chip or Butch. Fuentes or another up and comer is more likely. We won't touch Kiffen with a 50 foot pole cuz of NCAA. All that said I expect nothing less than Mario or Coley from this admin.

They're just going to stay in house and go with Coley. Not going to even look at anyone else.

Those are two solid names. Fuente could be a steal depending on how he does this year (franchise mentioned him a few weeks back). He's a Gary Patterson disciple.

We had our chance when golden went missing and Strong was available. If this university and the AD had any respect for itself they would have fired golden for talking to PSU and went after strong to see if he would be interested. Sure we wouldn't have been able to match what they offered him but I think he would have listened as he would kill it at Miami.

Yes, but we had Fake James, who was tied to Donna's apron strings. I hope nobody's buying this tough guy talk from the AD's office of late.
 
Strong would be the ideal hire but I doubt he leaves Texas after 2 years unless he has a really bad year. Chip Kelly's obviously a pipe dream but I want him. I wouldn't mind going after mark stoops, Miami is a better program then Kentucky so he might jump at that but they have committed to him, but First we need Al fired.

He was only preseason number one because he took a probation and scholarship reduced team to 10 wins the year before. But I hear you I think were all just desperate at this point

I agree with the sentiment of him being an SEC coach, and I think he would leave Miami for the SEC as soon as he was given the chance.

Hudspeth would be a solid hire as well. I think Mark Stoops would be good also. scott frost might be a good hire
