Charlie strong interview

I learn that u can't discount bad performances. It doesn't matter the circumstances or talent you have or lack. Getting blown out at Texas is a huge no no for me. Same thing if you beat no one.

“I don’t know how this comes across,” Rhoads said. “But, I’ll say this anyway. We shouldn’t beat Texas probably. We shouldn’t beat Texas probably. Every kid that they recruit, if I go recruit them, I’m not going to get them. I’m not going to get them. OK? But, we did and we have twice because the program’s moving in the right direction.”

Paul Rhoads on ISU win: 'We shouldn?t beat Texas. ... But we did.'

The point you all are missing is, strong took over a dumpster fire, Mack brown was getting his head kicked in before he got fired... Al took over a great job and sucked but Charlie took over ****

Charlie Strong is what we hate, a conservative "defensive" coach. Here are his offenses as a HC:

2010: 79th
2011: 103rd
2012: 51st (1st round QB Bridgewater)
2013: 28th (1st round QB)
2014: 113th
2015: 108th

I knew it was bad, I didn't know it was this bad.

Everyone talks about that talent he built, but he certainly didn't use it offensively. He's a corch and now that he can't out talent everyone by a ton, he is getting exposed.

Brown:
2012: 9-4
2013: 8-5

Strong:
2014: 6-7
2015: 3-5

He just got Hulk smashed by one of the worst teams in FBS. And guys are still making excuses for him claiming he's not a fit there but he would be here? What the fck does that even mean?

He sounds like he's on the verge of being Baker acted.

People who support him are just digging in and too proud to move on. His UL tenure is in the past, Bridgewater is in the pros and now he is competing with the big boys...but he will do well at Miami.

This. He had a once in lifetime type of player. When Syracuse had mcnbab or va tech had Vick they were pretty good too. He can't win in Texas but he's going to win here? I'm skeptical.

I'd take Charlie as long as he let's the players back on the sidelines.

You impressed with his tenure at Texas? Perhaps at his 16-18 record without a Heisman QB?

I think he'd do well in Florida i really do
If he can't win 9 games at Texas with the budget they have, the longhorn network and being the flagship university in Texas then no he can't win at Miami. Small private Baylor in shi*ty Waco is out performing him on an off the field

Al is a terrible hc but he took over a dumpster fire. Besides the Nevin fiasco and the NCAA s never ending witch hunt, randy burnt bridges with hs coaches all over the place and the kids were out of shape.

You are delusional if you think al took over a great job

The guy is going down in flames at a program where he has everything You think he's going to succeed in this challenging environment.?

This is a money post. The fact is even in Strong's best year at Louisville, and with the benefit of a very good QB and an ACC schedule...the man lost 2 really bad games that season (Syracuse and I can't remember the other one right now).

He's overrated as ****. I think he's better than Cristobal but that's the equivalent of calling him a prettier fat girl.

A prettier, retarded and gap tooth fat girl.

Good ol Chuck will be lucky to get a call from Miami of Ohio at this rate.

Said it before and I'll say it now. This is Rich Rodriguez all over again. A very good coach that's a bad fit at a prestigious program.

The dude didn't forget how to coach defense. Which of these do you think is the anomaly?

South Carolina ('00)- 6th in scoring defense
Florida ('08)- 3rd in scoring defense
Louisville ('09)- 2nd in scoring defense
Texas ('15)- 81st in scoring defense

The key for him would be hiring a good OC. He bungled that situation in Texas. Pair him with a rising talent like Ken Dorsey and the results could be interesting.

Strong's talent evaluation at Louisville was almost Butch-like. He had TEN guys drafted last year. And if Bridgewater "made" Strong (which I think is bull****), Kaaya can do the same thing. I wouldn't put him before Butch or Herman, but he'd be the next guy for me (I don't see Fuente as a culture fit).

"(I don't see Fuente as a culture fit)."

Why? Could you expand on that.
Thanks.
