CFP Selection Committee to incorporate "new data point"

I'm not disagreeing with that point as to the first CFP vote. What I AM saying is that if they NOW add this new "data point", it would have possibly put Indiana at the bottom of the "top 25 ranked" Big 10 teams last year. Which is hilarious.

Of Indiana's 9 Big 10 regular season wins last year, 6 of them came against the 7 worst teams in the Big 10. Abysmal. But Indiana was "the best" when it came time to the Big 10 Championship. And in the CFP rounds.

So, I don't know...maybe strength of schedule is...deceptive? Obviously, you have to use SOMETHING, I just find it hilarious that the "best team in the country" in 2025 had one of the weakest possible conference slates.
 
So Miami goes 3-0 against the SEC last year. The ACC goes 8-6 vs the SEC last year. Georgia Tech plays a down to the wire game with UGA for the second year in a row.

Louisville almost beats Ole Miss this year, arguably the best team in the SEC. NC State beats Vandy (and then doesn't). FSU, who is terrible, is beating Bama for the second year in a row late into the game.

Are these data points? Because you'd think the ACC is absolute trash based on narratives yet the SEC seems to not be near the level the network pretends it to be.

Why is it a joke? Is it because Miami happens to play in the ACC and this metric will be more of a detriment to teams in the ACC- and teams in the SEC and BIG, who play in a tougher conference, will get a much deserved benefit? Isn’t that how it should be?

Tougher conference based on what? Random people saying Missouri is better than Duke or Oregon is better than Louisville? The point is, random people and networks who have agendas will always skew towards what fits their narrative.

Duke won the ACC, started 3-0 with two wins vs power 4 teams and still unranked. A Big10 or SEC team with that resume is likely top 15 if not higher.

So come the end of the season, this extra metric will be used to favor certain conferences

Right but it’s not for that situation. I don’t think this is gonna hurt teams who go undefeated, unless they’re up against another undefeated team. But they’re in anyway. This is a way to manufacture the 7-12 seeds they want in.
 
If the SEC is allegedly so “great”, then why do they need to have every conceivable rule made up for them in their favor?

Rhetorical question, of course.

I couldnt believe that ****.. Lol.. Some actually still dont get that ACC is a dead league and its just the titanic taking its time to fill with water and sink.. Its faith was sealed long ago with tv deal.

Don't forget about micheatagain. Every one knows they got beat by WMU yet they're ranked.. to give oklahoma a quality loss. It's a ******* joke at this point.

Another issue or one that might get missed is when you silo to your conference and play nobody,, you can just hop on Indiana plan and get top 10 rank when done with weak ooc schedule.. Penn St. is already up to 13 and they play NOBODY...

This. If Texas beats a trash Missouri team by 9 points, it’s a “tough SEC win” because the pollsters have overrated Missouri. Meanwhile an ACC or Big XII team with a similar resume will go unranked.

You literally have to pour on the score on everyone! Coaches will get mad, but you have to leave no doubt.It's too bad because the young players will get less playing time.
