There will always be 2-3 SEC teams in the back end of the top 25....usually Mizzou, Tenn, etc. It is used to prop up their wins vs top 25 teams.

Many of us would agree with you until we see who actually gets selected, and it turns out to be some mediocre SEC team that deserves to be there much less than we do. Our 2024 team should absolutely have made the playoffs, for example. Sure our defense was hot garbage. We also had the #1 offense in the country by a country mile.

No it's not making it up as they go. That would be a lot more favorable than what it is.

What it is in actuality is a "data point" (a made up one) to justify SEC and other name brand school getting in over more deserving schools that fit the traditional narrative of not losing football games.
