2024 CB Ellis Robinson IV

Fran took a career killer going to syracuse. Should of stayed at Georgia
7-8 wins at Syracuse will get you a bigger job. He could easily turn that into Penn State or Maryland down the road if he wants to.

He's a very good evaluator and one of the best recruiters in the country, especially in the northeast. If he was going to succeed anywhere - Cuse was probably the best job he was going to get as a 1st time HC.

Going from DB coach to ACC Head Coach is a no brainer regardless of who it is. $500k to $3-4-5M (idk what they're paying him) per year. Fail after 3-4 years and go back to a DB coach at 45 years old, stay 5 years, and do it again.

The opportunity to get a HC job for a guy like Fran Brown is slim to none, especially a P5 job.

He has no choice but to strike when the iron is hot, otherwise he'd be hard pressed to get a bunch of chances at getting a good job.

Top programs usually don't even consider Coaches like him.

it's the kind of job where if he can just perform at the median ... he can parlay it into a bigger and better job. look at what Elko was able to do at duke with his first head coaching position.

Syracuse today is not the Syracuse of 1998, and it's really a struggle to win consistently. BUT, he just needs to win "enough" to get to the next step.

And I agree with you. He's pretty lucky, being a young coach, and having never been a coordinator.

And if he doesn’t win “enough” he’s making 8 figures over those years.

Elko turned a 9-4 season at Duke into a huge payday at A&M. And it's not unheard of for Cuse to succeed in the ACC - Babers had a 10-3 season there.

Hit a number like that and Brown will definitely be targeted for bigger openings. It's a no brainer.

Article basically said both visits good - even though Fran Brown left he trusts Kirby, Schuman, and Muschamp. Edit - also said his heart is in GA and they are full speed ahead

Our in home was with parents only then staff went to see Ellis at school - said we’ve been solid the whole recruitment basically.

Not a ton else in the update.
