Miami switching off of Nike is a direct result of the University having no strong booster presence and no significant donations back into the university by former players.

There's a reason why OSU, Oregon and Alabama can play for contracts well below market value, they have boosters that more than make up the difference.

This is one of the few ways that UM can actually infuse the program with significant money. It's not the ideal situation, but it is what it is.

Yet another issue that is the fan's fault.

Yeah I'm sure bama and Ohio State are taking less than what they can get because they're good with getting less than market value. Get the fck outta my face with that ****.

Rest assured when their contracts are up they will get whatever the market value is and then some regardless of how many donors they have. You clowns are reaching to look for reasons to skewer the fans and prop up busted *** UM.

Anyone still blaming the fans is a complete moron. Enough of this crap. Think of UM as a business. Banks and investors don't just walk up to a business and shell large amount of cash without the prospectus of future growth and recent evidence of success. UM has shown nothinf, less than nothing, the last decade to show the fans that there is any commitment towards athletics. The school doesn't give a ****. They have plenty of money to pump into increased coaching salaries and facilities upgrades. Again, Coker was one of the top paid coaches and despite the boom in revenues nationwide that has occurred in the last decade, we're still paying Al Golden and staff the same amount Coker and his guys got. That's lunacy. Coupled with the half assed facilities upgrades that have just started taking place after 15 years of no upgrades and you want to blame the fans for not wanting to shell out cash? UM has alienated itself from the community and its former players. Randall Hill can't even get on the phone to offer friendly advice to Coach Golden. Phillip Buchanon and the rest of the players aren't allowed on the sideline for home games yet FSU can bring their guys on the sideline against us. Players threatened with campus bans for not cooperating with the NCAA. No **** people don't want to give the UM athletic department money. They are incompetent, lazy, apathetic, and love to point fingers at the players, fans, and community. **** them. Shape the **** up and start doing this right and you'll get as much money as I can feasibly give. Until then **** off.

Nike has a fixed value on what they pay teams. You think Ohio State, Bama, FSU, ect. haven't all come up for new contracts recently? Stop. Nike holds all the cards here, plays a take it or leave it and we left it for more money because we have no one that reinvests into the program.

They are living off their past and the gap is closing, huh? LBJ, Kobe, KD, Melo, CP3, Dirk, Griffin, Jimmy Buckets, Pau Gasol, Mark Gasol, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Chris Bosh, Klay Thompson....etc. Brazil, Italy, Germany, USA, Canada, Switzerland...etc....OSU, FSU, BAMA, UF, LSU, OU, OU, OSU, UT...etc.

What do they all have in common? Not only are all of the aforementioned represented by Nike, but they have been winners since 2000. Either in the olympics, playoffs, or respective individual sports. Nike align themselves w/ winners, period.

Everyone was talking about how TAMU is doing just fine recruiting head to head w/ UT and TAMU is an Adidas school....are you seeing what's happening this recruiting cycle?? UT is smoking the **** out of TAMU. TAMU had a glimmer of hope when UT was down, but now that they have an equally good coach, all of those TAMU locks flipped to UT and UT had a bad year this yr.

It's the same thing w/ UCLA v. USC. UCLA got big recruits only b/c USC was down, now that USC is off of sanctions, you're not hearing any kids going to UCLA.

Kids are kids...they want to be associated w/ what's hot and Nike is what's hot. All of the sports video games have Nike as the optimum success in career modes. The NIKE Sparq camp is still the end all camp for all big time recruits.

The only competition to Nike in the football world is Under Armour, and we didn't even switch to them!!! We went w/ a company that specializes in European designs. Trust and believe FSU will continue to smoke us on the recruiting trail. This is another neg recruiting method that they and UF can use against us.

Italy=Puma
Switzerland=Puma
Germany=Adidas

Man U starting next year=Adidas

It's all about the $$$$$$$. Simple as that.

You know the worst part of all this? Parting ways with Nike means that we will have all new font on everything once the contract expires.

Dont care if it's Nike or Adidas. Im still boycottin everything until that fat **** and his slew of dumbasses (Franklin, Williams, and daHofrio) are gone.

Figured we would go w/ a **** based shoe company, especially since we just kept a coach in Golden (white) who had the same identical record as Shannon (black) and this team is actually trending down under Golden's (white) watch. Just saying.

now it'll be very easy to not buy anything with miami on it. thanks for making it even easier to boycott.

My family ha been in the licensed sports market for over 25 years. Let me say this, ADIDAS HAS BETTER QUALITY WHEN IT COMES TO CLOTHING.

So Donna wants the new president to pick who to hire and fire, yet won't wait and let him/her to pick what company sponsors the school? Makes perfect sense. It's all a money thing, in some ways it's smart. But I just don't agree with it
