Canes Practicing in Orlando

I live about 10 miles from Disney. Sports Complex is fine, I drive by it everyday. As a matter of fact, it looks great, the fields haven't seen heavy usage recently.

And while some parts of Orlando did get hit hard (Orlo Vista and the west side of downtown in particular), the area around Disney went relatively unscaithed. Saw some low area flooding, but that is what happens when 10+ inches of rain fall.

It seems like the football season has not started yet, even though games are on.

I have to say the power companies did a pathetic job in both communities. This was not a huge direct hit in either area yet both have substantial power outages four days later.

You could not be more wrong. There was an entire fleet of utility trucks on standby in the EPCOT parking lot before the storm hit. Considering people in every part of the state lost power at some point, the fact that anyone got power back within a day is remarkable.

I applaud the effort made by those boys in the cherry picker trucks. I went 17 hours without power, and still have fresh eggs and milk. People were in front of my house looking for sewage blockage, but we never had our water cut off. Count your blessings.
