Canes in NYC

I completely agree. It literally tastes nothing liek regular pizza, but it is still good in its own right. I lived in NYC my whole life and will grab dominos here and there to change it up.

Starting to make sense now why you get confused every now and than when it comes to football, you gotta alot of basketball in your blood!

I'm not really, and never did the Peter Luger/Smith & Wollensky type places. I went to Keane's (I think) years back and it was great, but just not the same as something more out there for me.

Give me Amy Ruth's chicken and waffles in Harlem.

Try Melba’s chicken & waffles in Harlem. Melba beat Bobby Flay in a cooking contest.

The Rays around the corner from where the team is staying is a knockoff of Famous Rays (closed in 2011) on 6th Ave & 11St.

Best Pizza in the neighborhood is Mariella's Pizza on 55th & 8th. Been around for 25 yrs. Unfortunately, with rents the way they are in NYC, Mariella's closed their store and now rent space in The Bread Factory at the above address

Ray’s is overrated.

Great info in this thread, I'm going to have to write some of these spots down.

My favorite pizza is Cassiano's on 56th and 3rd. I also think Oxford Café has some great pizza on the low. I mean the joint is a café, not even a pizzeria, but I've taken many co-workers there who don't believe it until they try it and get hooked.

Cassianos? I thought it was horrible. I walk past it every day. Looked good but was disappointed. Sofia pizza shoppe on 54th and 1st is far superior. I also heard Marinaras which is next door is great.

Really? Do you like deep dish? Cassiano’s is almost a Chicago style but I had their deep dish and think it’s amazing. I’ll have to try Marinaras, I’ve never been there.

I think my wife once ordered cassianos personal pizza for delivery and that was better but I was ravenous once and got a slice and just wasn't a fan.

Yeah I have to hit up Marinaras as well. There are a few locations in the city now. I know there is another one up in the 80s on the east side.

Suntan U was always full of northeasterners. Being a native Miamian was rare when I was there. So I am not surprised there are some many alum up there. Many great pizza places in NYC but I still prepared old Marcella’s in North Dade over by Norland HS, especially for garlic rolls.

It's easily the second biggest Alumni base to South Florida. There are THOUSANDS of Canes in NYC, Jersey and CT.
