Canes in NYC

That is awesome. That is the best way to get introduced to it lol. That is awesome. The best type of jobs are the ones where you get to go to meetings with clients at places like that lol. I have heard similar amounts for the meal lol. I would definetly treat it like a special occasion lol and break out some of my going out cash for the meal.

Man, those places are cool, but I really like the relatively cheap and super authentic. Give me a banh mi pancake sandwich from Vanessa's dumplings, some amazing street meat where you get two meals for six bucks, or something like Alligator/Crocodile lounge, where you get a free personal pizza with every drink you buy.

That's one thing I really loved about New York. People always doing cool stuff and making great food.

It's a shame. I've been hearing recently about how the MTA needs $41 BILLION to modernize the subway. We're not very far from NYC only being available to the uber rich. It will be all corporations and billionaires.

Next NYC mayor is going to be an actual socialist the way the Dems are trending, so that will be interesting.

Yah bro. I know what you mean. The expenses are crazy lol. Same with the selfishness. People think Miami is bad, but NYC is another level. I lived here all my life so I am used to it, but it will wear you out quickly for sure. NYU has some REAL hot girls so I will definetly check it out one of these days. Appreicate the advice bro! Did you move out of the city? I want to eventually move to NJ hopefully bergen county like Tenafly, englewood cliffs, or if im really balling alpine(yah right never happening LMFAO).

I was actually thinking about Miami vs. NYC the other day, and how it's an exponential difference. I lived in Miami for seven years too so know all about that.

NYU has some real hot girls, ESPECIALLY if you like Asians. I sure do.

I left four years ago. Couldn't do it anymore, wanted to try something different. Ended up in Washington state and love it here.

I am with you on that. Whenever I go to different cities. I always prefer to go to the whole in the wall specialty places. NYC pizza places. Miami. Cuban spots. LA mexican spots. etc. etc. It is usually amazing food and WAY cheaper.

Ya me too. I lived in Miami for 4 years and NYC for 21. It really is VERY different. I was expecting it to be like a souther NYC, but it really is SOO differnet. Everything is MUCH slower paced down there lol. Agreed. I love me some asians. I like em all though. Latinas, ASians, etc. I have heard washington is awesome. I have never been before, but I am glad you are enjoying it.

You ever been to any of the speakeasy's? I know Please Don't Tell closed down years ago but I'm sure there are still some left.

The huge differences to me are:

1) Miami isn't nearly as diverse as NYC. It's basically white (and ******) and Caribbean/South American. Not a lot of Asia or Africa or even Europe. NYC is just crazy diverse.
2) Miami is not nearly as densely populated. Downtown/Brickell is nothing like NYC is.

Washington is amazing. Tons of water (salt and fresh), snow capped mountains everywhere, rarely gets too hot or cold, great, fresh food everywhere, legal weed that's widely available, great coffee and beer scenes and endless things to do outdoors.

Man I like those Latinas but I am also terrified of them.

**** ya. Like employees only and the back room. lol Great places how about you?

I went to PDT before it closed, once or twice. Been to Angel's Share (my favorite) a few times. Also went to a place on Ave C (which I'm sure is long gone) that might have been an illegal speakeasy. Literally had "speakeasy" in small stencil on the door, and was basically an empty apartment with a bar and a pool table. Nothing like those hidden places.

Oh **** there was a really rad one that I found... I think on Ave B around 12th St, before I left. Small coffee shop up front, then you basically just walk through a door that looks like a storage closet, and there's a big, gorgeous bar, all brick with skylights and big leather chairs. Only went once or twice but it was a really great spot.

Absolutley right about the diversity. Honestly bro. WHen I first got there I was like wait this is part of Miami? Its suburbs. They were like well take you to downtown/brickell area. Thats the real city. We got there and im like ok so where is the real city. They said "this is it" LMAOO. I couldn't believe thats what they referred to as downtown. It was like one of those mini cities they have in jersey like Hoboken.

I am jelaous of the legal weed, but they dont arrest you for weed in NYC anymore, they just give you a ticket, but we don't get nearly as good schit as what you get out in the west coast. So that is definetly something I wish we had lol. The weather too is something I definetly would love. It is definetly one of those places i definetly would like to check out. I know they have a bunchof hot asians over tehre too. Ya the latinas are nuts lol, but real ****.

LMAOO yup, the LES and ABC used to be A LOT cooler back in the day. Now they are basically just hipster city. I really miss the old grimy NYC to be honest. I remember when I was real little my uncle knew some of the guys that ran the tunnel so they got me in there right before it was about to close because my uncle wanted me to see it lol. I was like 8 years old inside of that place lol. I never been to a club like that ever again in my life.

I am going to see if I can find it if its still around that sounds cool as ****.

LMAO at Hoboken. That's super spot on.

When I lived there I had a delivery service. You call a number, give them an intersection, and they call you back in about a half hour, tell you to go to such and such car, and you get a choice between usually about 3-5 strains. Everything they had was just as good as the top-shelf stuff out here. They were a legit, professional operation. Even had specials and ****. It was amazing.

You're right about the Asians out here but it's mostly Seattle. The "Latinas" are mostly Mexican and they haven't really integrated yet. I'm north of Seattle and it's mostly white, which is a bummer. Very, very rarely see a black person. I definitely miss the ethnic diversity big time. My crew looked like a box of crayons.

LMAO yup. I knew a fellow new yorker would get a kick out of that. I use a very similar service lmao. They use bikes now to deliver it and they have legit business cards and schit lol. I feel a little bit better about it now lol. I never had west coast ****. SO I just assumed what I was getting is trash compared to it, but I guess I probably am getting similar quality stuff to the legal stuff. Back in the day though. Thats a different story. I used to have to get it from the weedman and it would be GARBAGE unless you go to the dominincans in washington heights on st nick, broadway, or audubon . Then you would get straight fire like the stores sell.

That makes sense. I was probably thinking of seattle. LMAO my crew looks like that too.

Yeah man St. Mark's Place was a huge microcosm of the change. Place went from being all sorts of punk rock to a bunch of ramen and cupcake places frequented exclusively by NYU undergrads. Made me wonder if one of my regular haunts (total and absolute dive) Grassroots Tavern was still around, and sadly, it's closed.

St. Marks place is officially dead.

For sure bro. I miss the old NYC. It is like you said going to be only for billlionaires soon. The hipsters are currently taking over lol, but eventually they wont even be able to afford to live there.
