Canes Favored by 5 1/2 over Duke

I agree with you Cutcliffe will have them ready. On the plus side they seem to be a little more of a run first team this year. Which bodes well for us. Although after watching our secondary he will probably scrap that & throw it 60 times.

Cvntsniff is smart enough to see that raw meat sitting out there in the secondary. Toledo had guys running free off and on for 60 minutes. If we don't get that worked out and start tackling a little better too, then it's going to be a war on Friday.

If Toledo had guys running free for 60 minutes then why did they gain 289 of their yards in the 1st half, then only 115 in the 2nd half with 77 coming off of one drive where we had all of our backups in?

If you watched the game and aren't just looking at stats, then you saw the guys running free in our secondary. As good as Woodside was, he missed a couple, and they had some drops too.

I've watched the game 4-5 times now. They were running free in the 1st half, but the defense played much better in the 2nd half. They picked on Perry all day when he was in, more than Delaney, but in the 2nd half they couldn't move the ball until we went up 38-16 and literally subbed out the entire defense except for Redwine. They had a 77 yard drive. 77 yards of their 115 they got all half.

Watch it a 6th time. There were guys open throughout 2nd half too. They killed themselves with drops, penalties and missed chances a lot more than we made any genius adjustments in play.

Incorrect.

My advanced computer models gave us winning an ****-puckering 7-10 pt game that comes down to the wire.

a touchdown fav on the road in a primetime game vs a 4-0 team is VERY respectable. I think we might shallack them now that I saw the line movement hit a key # in 7.

Cvntsniff is licking his chops looking at that confused **** pile of a defense we've been trotting out there this year. We should win this game because we have far superior material. But I'll tell you this much: I'm shook over our defense. And Cvntsniff is a very good veteran offensive mind.

And penalties.

Reality of the second half is (1) yes, we played better, but not that much better, and (2) they played worse (and I mean objectively worse--drops, bad passes, etc--as opposed to problems our defense "forced."

7 Possessions, 6 with the starters in, 1 started at our 8 yard line.

Only 1 drive they went down the field, against our backups(until we rotated our starting DL in). 2 penalties on their offense. 1 drop.

They weren't running free all 2nd half, dropping balls, and committing penalties every other snap. Our defense played much better and got their hands in on a lot of passes in the 2nd half.

OK. You're right. We dialed up a bunch of genius adjustments, and we blanketed them the entire 2nd half.

Maybe I am being naïve but I think this is going to be very similar to last year's game and it will be our best performance yet.

If they were running free like the 1st half, they should've put up another 280+ in the 2nd half, no? Considering they had only 1 drop and 2 penalties on offense. Or are you going to just say Woodside was missing everything left and right in the 2nd half?

Gonna be a easy win. Dukes offense isn't as good as Toledo. I really do think that's the best offense we would face all season.

I will agree with you here. I think we faced the best QB we’ll see all season.

Couldn't find a mention of this in the news-observer. Cutliff says it's 'going to be a great atmosphere on Fri night'...this is the best team he's had.

Duke's RB (shoulder) and best lb (knee) are both questionable after sustaining injuries vs UNC.

Shaun Wilson? He's hurt? He's their leading rusher and has been there for 29 years. I think Spurrier recruited him.

If our secondary and Diaz comes to play we win by atleast 10. I have not watch their games but I think we can run the ball on anyone. We are pretty good at stopping the run so they'll have to throw alot

I don't try to apply logic to football, so I don't think it's necessary that Toledo would have as much production in the second half as it had in the first half just because there were still receivers running free in the second half. I know what I saw, so logic and stats don't really change that. Football isn't always a logical analysis.

No. It says right there that they only dropped 1 pass in the second half. This evidence suggests that if you DID see Toledo running free and dropping passes in the second half then you, sir, are the one who may have ingested hallucinogenics.
