Not to excuse the possible prior f-up by Field here but a kid gaffing off Paradise Camp should almost be a deal breaker when it comes to gauging their current actual interest. Obviously there might be some exceptions but it still would be a huge red flag in assessing how much future effort should be expended on the kid.

They announced Paradise Camp only a few weeks ago, not a lot of time to make plans. Also, he did try to make travel plans to visit but it didn't work out. Finally, he is not visiting another school over paradise, he has a previously planned family vacation. No way to spin it, this wasn't Field's finest work.

Pretty sure this kid came to Paradise last year or the year before looking for an offer and didn't get one. He's been EVERYWHERE this spring - and if he loved Hartley so much, why not commit there? Unless he couldn't. He wanted Clemson. Gave an interview a week or two ago after he camped for them.

Not worried about this at all.

Fair enough. I do sometimes find the importance placed on family vacations to be a bit rich though. You'd think a top tier recruit about to make a "business decision" (as so many of them deem it) could miss a few days in Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach with the fam and Uncle Steve and the cousins.

But I do trust your analysis regarding Field on this one. Absolutely sounds like he's dropped the ball a little and then got ****y when his efforts to save it weren't wholeheartedly immediately embraced.
