Braxton Berrios update

So what are we arguing, which one sucks worse?

Doesn't matter anyway, berrios is out probably 8-10 weeks

stop deflecting. you have yet to tell me how berrios is more talented than lewis. and yes he was balling wtf he was a true freshman and playing good or as they call it "balling" until he broke the ankle....did you want him to keep playing with the broken ankle?

not really arguing that...just refuting the fact that berrios is the second coming of santana moss because everyone keeps telling me how all our receivers suck but hyping up berrios to be some super stud.

What do you mean you are refuting the notion that Berrios is the white Santana Moss? Who ever said that? Berrios has a completely different game than Moss. The reason people bring up his shuttle time is because his game is based in his lateral quickness. Berrios is the kind of WR that excels in the slot because of his ability to get open in the shallow to intermediate middle of the field. Coaches see Berrios as a Wes Welker /Julian Edleman type. If the white to white comparison bothers you think Theron Collier.

I thought his offer was well deserved. For those who claim not to have seen on field proof of his talent you have to consider that he had suffered a torn ACL eight months before the start of his true freshman year. That would be significant for any WR but even more so for a guy like Berrios whose game is defined by explosive lateral quickness. It seems as if some here were expecting him to be an explosive no1 type WR with deep speed and homerun ability and that's not his game. I thought Berrios had a fairly good year for a true frosh coming off a knee injury. At his best and fully healthy, I see Berrios as being a dependable and ultra productive chain mover with decent YAC and intermittent explosive play potential.

you just proved my point. look at all that bs you just wrote to try and prove that he is not an average player, which he is. " "ultaproductive and intermittent explosive play potential" lmao. are any of yall related to him or something? i dont see no one getting so emotional over any of our other players. he is nothing special and yall over here trying to boost him up.

all this talk about his shuttle time and explosive lateral quickness lmao i dont see it

yes he had his mri

Pete, I've also read MCL TEAR on twitter....not just MCL sprain....can you provide clarity on that?

An MCL sprain is a partial MCL tear...and can heal with rest and rehab

This is correct. I sprained my MCL (slight tear) in college soccer. I was back playing on it in 4 weeks, but I wasn't nearly as effective. I had to play with a brace for a couple of weeks. I was back to cutting full speed after about 8 weeks. This was about 15 yrs ago...so I'm sure his progress will be more advanced.

A sprain is a slight tear.

People get emotional over a ton of other players. More false info you toss out there to try and prove a point. Your whole argument on here is tired and annoying. If anything, I can see the racial undertones in all of your posts. Racist.

Told it is an MCL sprain. Could be back in a few weeks with brace. Relatively good news

No Big Deal. The kid should be at UNC anyways.

No dude, you are very much misinformed or wrong. Berrios is a key player in this offense. Kid gets open.

what proof do you have of this? he hasnt done jack sht so far. Key player? lmao

i agree that he is a unc-duke-wakeforest type player.

Translation : White WR's can not play for Miami no matter their measurable.

exhibit b. this must be why everyone gets so emotional over berrios. ive seen about 4 posts already implying that he doesnt get credit bc hes white or making some mention of his whiteness.

they cant believe that someone would say their favorite player ol Braxton is nothing special....so it must be cuz he is white! got it lmao look in the mirror *******

Tough to say but if we're keeping it real he reminds me of Jim Thorpe, Lance Allworth, Steve Largent, or Ed McCaffery for some reason maybe even Phil McConkey, Joe Jurevicious, or even Wes Welker but I can't really figure it out though hahaha

Here is your quote a couple pages back...

"sure Berrios is the white Santana Moss and Coley sucks we shouldve never recruited him."

Get the fvck outta my face you race baiting pillow-biter. I don't give a **** about Berrios, but it gets tired seeing people like you trying to ruffle feathers by shoving this race card in people's faces. To top it off you're too ignorant to see that you're the over-sensitive child that manifests these weak arguments out of an impulsive emo reaction.

so because i said that berrios is the " white santana moss" that is pulling the race card? lmao boy u r slow. how is that making it about race? berrios happens to be white and i was comparing him to santana moss. u r one stupid mfker.

go look back at the posts i just quoted that were defending berrios. that is what is called pulling the race card, u whiney *****.

u on the other hand crying like a little ***** "wawa its because he is white"
first off, i never even said i dont like berrios . i simply said he is not the second coming of santana moss like u and a couple other jackasses are trying to make it seem. dont get your panties in a bunch u sissy.

people all over the place, spend their time complaining about how all our receivers suck, except berrios because he had the fastest shuttle time in the nation lmao i wonder why people get so emotional over him

Berries is Wes Welker with better measurables. He will prove the haters wrong.

Reminds me of Ryan Switzer at UNC for some reason...

He's Switzer without the playmaking ability. Love me some Berrios though. If he can develop into a Michael Campanaro type of player for us that would be incredible. Keep that white hope alive, bro!

Prove your point? Are you suffering from a cognitive deficit? Has your reading comprehension been severely impaired?

Emotional? It's written as a scouting report. The language used is descriptive yet dispassionate

Are we related? No. He's not my favorite player or even close to being my favorite player.

You say you haven't seen the lateral quickness when I just gave a very likely reason as to why. Again your reading comprehension seems to be lacking.

scouting report? haha your right how can i forget about the shuttle time!!!
thats the reason you give for his lateral quickness? like i said wake me up when he does it on the field he didnt come here to run obstacle courses.

go play with yourself. we have way better receivers on the team for you clowns to keep obsessing about an average WR who has doesnt jack. at best he will become a dependable slightly above average receiver, nothing special. keep trying to convince yourselves.

I tore my ACL playing ball. It takes awhile to get back to full strength, if ever. I would not rush judgment on him yet. My concern with him is not his ability but that he may be injury prone.

No one is right here.

Berrios hasn't done **** so far. He was heavy and was months off an ACL surgery last year, and should have redshirted. Maybe he comes back and does what he's done so far, nothing. Maybe he comes back and balls the **** out. We'll see. I personally hope becomes the greatest **** to ever suite up here since Joaquin.

The only truth here is that this staff should have shirted him last year, as they should have with an overweight Chocolate last year too.

The staff has the perfect opportunity to redshirt the kid, and call it a medical redshirt.

He absolutely should not have played last year. They rushed him on the field because Coley and Kaaya like him. But he wasn't a game changer, at all.

And if his targets had gone to Coley, Waters, and Lewis, I doubt there would have been any drop.

They can fix it this year. Shirt the kid, go with Scott, Coley, Waters, Lewis, Jones, and Brady. And come back next season with some combo of Coley, Berrios, Cager, Jones, Brady, and Bruce.

Maybe even move Gray to WR ...
