Benedict Cristobal is gone

So if you are against Mario interviewing, what are your thoughts on Coley? Is he a piece of **** too?

That's a bad analogy. Mario has been on the job for 2 months. Coley was at FSU for like 5 years with no upward mobility there. And if I was an FSU fan, I'd think absolutely think Coley was a scumbag, but let's not act like his situation is analogous whatsoever to Mario interviewing with Alabama. Hopefully it's the same situation as Barrow and UF.

Being one of the resident FSU fans, I didn't nor do I think that Coley is a scumbag. The timing was bad, as it came right before signing day, but if the dude can get paid, and actually be a real OC, then he gotta do what he gotta do.

Mario is a cane. He has to know Sagan wants nothing more than a south florida pipeline.

If I was an fsu fan I would be ****ed at jimbo not Coley.

Americans are really fast becoming pussified beyond all recognition.

You don't come back to a school that jumpstarted your profession/career and provided you with an education to boot, employeed you, then threw you a bone after being fired and INTERVIEW AT OTHER JOBS TWICE in under two months.

Cristobal is displaying major sociopathic tendencies and you can be sure although he's on "staff" the view of him has been changed drastically. If it hasn't Golden's psychology degrees are **** and he's ******* clueless.

Like was said above if Saban calls you interview. I really doubt he goes as it looks like he and his wife really want to stay in So Flo. That being said the only other reason he doesn't leave is for the chance to be head coach of the U one day.

Cristobal has some explaining to do. Not that anyone in the SoFl media would be able to talk to him competently about it. I don't like it. I don't like it at all. He just took the UM job for Christsake. You don't put yourself out for an interview, which is just that, a job interview without being serious about it. Especially with Ala****ingbama. Those guys don't need any more power than they already have. You go on that interview and you just signaled that they can go anywhere anytime and get anybody. Golden is trying to promote stability. This isn't the way to help him do it, IMO. You gotta help him draw the line. If Mario actually went on that interview, my opinion of the guy just nosedived.

Alright I guess I'm out of the loop here, but what other job did he interview for?

IIRC, something with Schiano.

Golden certainly knew about this, and I would also bet Golden let him interview for the position.

Guy was a HC. Ego must come to play at some point. Why not let him perceive to be trying to upgrade jobs. If he takes the job, good for him, have a wonderful life, you are our sworn enemy from now on. If he doesn't get the job, then you have a guy who has just been dropped from his lofty perch and is back down to reality and more willing/ able to perform the duties he was hired for in the first placebecause he knows this is the best he can do right now.

I think it goes hand in hand with Golden's undeniable confidence/ ****iness to let this play out the way it has.

Critobal is still a ********** for taking the interview.

I thought that was a job he turned down before he came to UM?

Cristobro leaving his alma mater for what would be a lateral move 2 months after we picked him up from the unemployment line is inexcusable Bama or not.

f it man. give Cristobal his walking papers now. Hes had more job interviews than months hes been here. IF he makes it to the season, he is sure to leave us high and dry a week before signing day next year probably costing us a couple of kids. I've lost all respect for the dude

I've been one of Mario's biggest fans for years....

If he takes that job, considering all of the circumstances, he'll quickly become a POS in my eyes. If you tell me it's for a coordinator or even a head coaching position then of course I'd understand.

But this one just doesn't feel right. Anyone defending Cristobal's actions here is a good ol' fashion Don Bailey Jr disciple, homer of all homers. Leaving your school for a lateral position is simply unforgiveable.

And for the record I'm no FSU fan but this doesn't compare to the Coley situation and we aren't being hypocrites. There's a huge difference on one's resume in saying "I actually called the plays" to "I'm the one that designed the weekly gameplan". Coley's move was only lateral in semantics. It was a promotion in every other regard.

For those that have the belief that "you just don't say no to saban" and accept that a courtesy iview is not short sighted, there's no burning bridges by telling saban "I am flattered by your request but I am committed to the school that just hired me."

My only worry is that there already is head butting bw Mario and coley.

huh? Why? Coley is Mario's old OC. No way Coley even comes if not for Mario.

Coley was there for 1 year with Mario. Lets not make it seem like it was a long relationship. It's something to keep an eye on. It'll be interesting to see how golden manages the Mario/coley/donofrio dynamic.
