Maybe Mario and Coley don't mix well?

Maybe, but I doubt it. Coley was Mario's O-Cord. and I would assume Mario is one of the main pushes to get Coley in or a personal reference. They at least knew each other well before Coley was hired here. I doubt Al hires Coley unless Mario gave him a glowing endorsement.

Maybe Coley turned into a complete ***** while working with Jimbo....who knows.
Coley working for Mario and Mario working for Coley are two different things.

Maybe he wants 3x the money. How many of you all would turn down a job doing the same **** thing getting paid 3x as much? I thought not. Let it play out.

Definitely shocking to hear this. Mario was next in line. Not the end of the world but as far as Im concerned if he heads to Bama I will hold Randy Shannon in higher regards.

He's already gettin paid by us and FIU. His family is down here. He's a Cane. Money isn't a factor

I didn't think so either but there's a lot of talk in Coral Gables that this was more than a courtesy interview. Maybe he's looking at it as a resume builder? All I know is he's making a huge mistake

Either way, if you are Mario, and someone offers you a chance at a huge payday, you have to listen. If anyone says they wouldn't listen to someone offering you a lot more money to do the same job, you are either stupid or lying.

They're going to pay him around $1.5M to be their OL corch when the guy who just left was making less than $400K? Makes sense.

He would be worth it for recruiting purposes. And trust me Bama has money to throw away.

No, not what I am saying. You think that Miami is going to give 395k for the TE coach? Stoutland was getting that. Miami being private, we won't know for sure, but I am thinking maybe 150k, and Bama probably willing to up to about 500k due to Mario's history of being a former D1 coach and good recruiter, plus the coffers are full with Bama due to the revenue from the NC. Again, we will never know, but I am probably going out on the limb and saying Bama probably is paying 3x to assistants that UM. (Which does make sense)

well earlier in this thread Navy said it was leaked that Mario was making between 500k and 625k here at Miami. so something doesn't jive
