Barry J. article summary on "behind the scenes" problems.

JFC the spín for the FIU loss is now that QB1 was out drinking? ffs man, any team deals with sh*t like this. If really bothered the decision makers he wouldn't have played. FIU was a night game too, plenty of time to go out party and get rid of the hangover until kick off, that is just another blame the players tactic by Manny and Co.

Nobody is saying we have leaders on the lockerroom, but when coaching sucks undisciplined players will act out even more

Almost every college head coach has a 3 strike rule for weed. Pretty sure Richt had a "3-strike" rule when he was at Georgia and here when it comes to drugs. So if Manny is talking about instituting one, where the **** did it go last year?

This is a hit piece leaked by the HC and Barry is doing his bidding

My sense is that "drug testing" is being used as a cure for poor discipline. Most kids today smoke weed, that is not the main issue. Not being prepared, focused, hungry etc. is the issue. And yes part of that is on the kids, but the larger part is the poor discipline. Having a stronger drug policy will not solve apathy.
I was thinking the same thing. Kids will smoke and drink. The next day they should be in the weight room getting better. The problem here is the HC. The players don’t respect him and needs to learn to be a leader not be part of the players.

i get what he tried to do. he wanted the team to hold each other accountable. obviously didnt work

this only works when there’s not a culture problem. U have to build the team full leaders in order for this to happen. It’s like a parent putting their irresponsible child to oversee their little siblings; what do u think is going to happen?

These are little things that, as a coach, shows if u truly have the pulse of the locker room. Obviously Diaz didn’t/doesn’t and may be that’s b/c he’s too busy acting like a kid in a candy store living a dream who doesn’t deserve.

The other problem, as one player explained, is there were some players on the team (not a lot but some) that have a “do what they want” mentality, don’t possess the level of work ethic needed to succeed and don’t seem to care as passionately as they should.

Pretty much shows that Manny isn't capable of controlling the narrative, his propaganda, or the players. AGAIN - UF won FOUR games the year before Mullen arrived. FOUR GAMES. Did he make "personnel" or "culture" excuses? No. Because he's seasoned. Been there and done that. He just got to ******* work - won 10 games, and then another 11 this past year.

Side note: None of you know how these young players are going to develop. Will Perry, Las Vegas or JW win the Heisman? Highly unlikely. But, FIVE years ago, Burrow was RShirting at OSU. He spent 3 years at OSU and accomplished nada on the field. As a 4th YEAR JR transfer- he threw for 2,900 yards and 16 TDs and 5 Ints. We wouldn't be happy with that here - and none of us would have predicted his Senior season. JW threw for more TDs as a Frosh and only 2 more interceptions.

We need to watch Lashlee work. Jon Richt was incompetent. Enos was too **** stubborn and antiquated. Let's see what happens with the QB room.

Manny is a loser - and the entire department is incompetent as **** for allowing this to be printed.

Summary if you hit the pay wall:

But conversations with multiple people around the program, including a veteran player, say there’s another issue, particularly in the quarterback room, that must be fixed. And UM is working to achieve that. That player - and other sources around the team - say a few players seem more concerned with partying than focusing on football and that a handful (including a prominent one on offense) broke curfew the night before the FIU loss to go out.

Williams is mentally weak and isn’t hungry. It is best for him to move on.

This column was eye opening. We complain about the coaching a lot, but we also have a roster full of apathetic players. At some point, some leaders need to step up and raise the accountability. It’s clear the coaches can’t handle that on their own.

yes they can. Kick out the losers. Make these children understand who is in charge.

Is Barry saying our QB room is full of burnouts?:

Jarren Williams is a scumbag

Jarren needs to grow up and mature, no doubt. And maybe he will. Perry was in this same boat last year and by all accounts, he was a model citizen this year, so maybe there's hope for JW.

However, let's not forget he's a 20 year old kid. Even if he did everything suggested in the article, it sounds like he's acting his age and needs someone to show him how to become a man tasked with responsibility. He's not committing crimes or violent acts.

Once you're 18, you're not a kid. There's also other QBs that are his age that have their **** together. Let's stop making excuses.
