I’m ok either way but vote b1g for two reasons:

Pros
Easier schedule
More money

More money seems very debatable going forward when the SEC's media rights deal is re-negotiated after Sankey guts the ACC and when the cross-country travel costs for all sports are factored in.

A schedule when we're playing both UF and FSU on a more regular basis is gonna generate more ticket revenue than one where we're not playing either on a regular basis.

So going to Big10 would technically be the better development path for our players, providing them that real life experience before moving on. Beside I live in Chicago suburbs and this puts 7 potential away game sites within 4 hours.

A lot of folks have similar thoughts ... and I certainly understand it as nice not to have to travel so far to watch your favorite team.

But wouldn't it be wiser for UM to consider accommodating familes and friends of most student-athletes by making their travel to away games less of a grind?

SEC is where Miami belongs. Just from a logistics standpoint it makes the most sense. Dont wanna be like USC, UCLA, and Oregon having to worry about them longer flights all the time.

... and Minnesota ... and Iowa ... and Washington ... and (eventually) Cal and Stanford and so on ...

Another factor. There are 210,000 living alumni, with close to half remaining in FL. Are they more likely to make a trip to the Southeast to catch an away game or fly to Iowa or Oregon?

Alright

Of those, how many die hard Canes fans?

Canes fans in general are all over the country

I'm good either way. Living in Virginia means I'm going to have to travel to see the Canes play.

total viewers in 2025
16 SEC teams: 52,306,000
17 B1G teams: 31,757,000
17 ACC teams: 18,074,000 (8 teams under the lowest SEC team, Miss St. 2 teams under the lowest B1G team, Purdue)
16 Big12 teams: 13,249,400

ND 10th in country: 3,200,000
Miami 12th in country: 3,070,000

The bigger question: does viewership start dropping when SEC teams aren't winning the CFP? Seems to be yes: 11% less in 2026 vs 2026 so far.

By chance, are you involved with the ACC refs? "Hold My Beer" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

For the people concerned about academics in the SEC. I believe Vanderbilt, Florida and Texas are the highest ranked schools in that conference has anything been shown that these schools have suffered from their membership in the SEC? Purely football wise I would prefer the SEC for less travel and the recruiting footprint. I can imagine a brutal travel schedule in the big 10 with back to back road trips to Washington and Rutgers. The weather wouldn't concern me living in the Midwest we are trending warmer in November and not much different than playing at VT BC or pitt.

I see your Vandy, Texas and UiF and raise you Northwestern, Michigan, UCLA, USC and Purdue.

What are the Big Ten schools that compare academically to Alabama, Miss State, Ole Miss, LSU, Missouri and Arkansas? Most of those schools, maybe all, have acceptance rates in the 70+%. Ole Miss is almost 100%.

I'm oversimplifying, but let's not omit the trash schools like Alabama and Ole Miss.

SEC would do all in its power to suppress us. Too much corruption in that incestuous brotherhood. No money is worth it.

I would prefer the sec it just makes more sense as far as location and the kids we mostly recruit. More than likely it will probably be the big 10 as that seems to be where the higher ups want to go. Travel would be turrible for the team but it is what it is
