At what point do we worry that the staff is not set?

How do you know richt hasn't already secured agreements with coaches? I also doubt most of our fans know our whole coaching staff anyway.

I expect most moves to be made after UGA's bowl game.


Richt said he had three hundred messages from coaches wanting to join him. Now people are worried about him finding assistants?
 
Al Golden hired Randy Melvin within a week of Jethro leaving. How'd that work out? With Miami actually paying for once Richt could land some people you'd might not expect to come.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here.......CMR knows a helluva lot more about coaching prospects and time lines than a bunch of worry worts. Chill the **** out and let the man do his job. It's dead period and he can refocus to assembling a staff when the time frames dictate so.

He doesn't. If you know something then share. You would think some of you are new to the questions after a new hire.

Come on an rep this site better than what you just wrote. After the golden years you should understand the concern.

What a bunch of idiots. Read the original question. It is in simple English and uses 6th grade words. "At what point" means when, at what date and time. So, the question most of you have not answered is when should we start to worry, after the NFL regular season, after the CFB playoffs. After every other school fills all of their openings...........

Pretty sure he wouldn't dismiss the current staff right before a bowl game as they will be the coaches for it...Think he waits until the NFL season is completed and the playoffs begin...
 
When to start worrying? Right after:

Jan. 2
TaxSlayer Bowl
Penn State vs. Georgia
Jacksonville, Florida | EverBank Field
Noon on ESPN

Richt should get some coaches from the Dawgs. If not, he's in trouble.

He might start firing right after our toilet bowl game.

Well he's almost certainly taking some folks from UGA but doesn't want to **** up their staff before their bowl game, which is on January 2nd. So he might be waiting until after that. I'd imagine he's talking to DCs already though.

So if you’re going to go back and do it again, you want to do it at a place you think you’ve got a chance to win, you’ve got to do it. And it being my alma mater, the whole thing was the right time.”

Richt said he honestly believes Miami is “a sleeping giant.” And he clearly believes he’s the man to awaken it. His ability to recruit South Florida was formidable at Georgia. The thinking is he’ll be extremely tough to beat as an in-state resident.

Meanwhile, several members of Georgia coaching staff remain in limbo. John Lilly, Bryan McClendon and Tracy Rocker are among those who haven’t been designated an assignment beyond the Taxslayer Bowl. It’s safe to say some of them may end up with him at “The U.”

You shouldn't be concerned with richt. Unlike golden, he has "big boy" school experience and dozens of coaching contacts. At this point five years ago, Golden was just hired.

I don't expect any hires/rententions to be made until after Miami and/or UGA's bowl game. People need to be cognizant that richt formally got the job about a week ago. Assistants who decide to leave their respective schools need to time to think over the decision as well. Moreover, these assistants could already have agreed upon deals but are waiting til after their bowl season to make the switch. UF's coach was still hiring guys in January. Harbaugh wasn't hired until late December and made all his hires in January.

It's better to wait for Bmac, rocker, and Lilly then rush to hire some guys for recruiting purposes. Most of our staff will be in place by the end of the dead period. There is nothing to gain by rushing. And if you look at what shaq's dad wrote, we had trouble recruiting with the guys we had.

As for your bolded comment, I disagree. Richt knows what he is doing. Al golden did not.

I obviously have no inside info on whether he has already secured agreement with our future defensive coordinator. If he has then great! But if he hasn't, the longer he waits the bigger name well expect. That's all I'm saying. I still trust him to make all the right decisions
 
My guess he's already got everyone locked up including the DC. He's just waiting for whatever reason.

You may go into this blindly after what we have dealt with the last 10-12 years, but most of us are recovering from PTSD. Nothing wrong with asking questions. It is a message board after all.

Granted Richt is a huge step up, but I'll question and verify before he earns my undying allegiance.
