I will take a top 10 D for the last 4 years any day, even if they play "slow" by your definitions.I don't know what it is, but our defense plays slow and is not very good at tackling. I dont know if that falls specifically coaching or recruiting or both.
Also any many misdirection play the opponent does results in a big game.
Wasn’t even a bad call..Bandy just got lost in coverageIt was just one bad call. Holy **** you guys take one bad play call and want a **** coach fired for it. The defense was the only reason we were in that North Carolina game to begin with. Same with the UF Game.
Yeah..va tech and UNC..other than that tho Defense was far far from a problem..by no means was the defense Great but it was in the top 20 in the nation in pivotal categories..3rd down D, we need to recruit more man v man cover cornersYes you can, it was flawed in critical moments when the team needed the defense the most while being handed a lead with an anemic offense late in the game yet allowing opposing offenses to do whatever they wanted in the 4th quarter
I dont just look at stats, I compare how other top teams perform and look vs how UM defense plays. You must not have watched many bowl games over this last few weeks because if you did you wouldn't have spewed the same this bs. Go look at that Baylor vs UGA game or Wisonsin vs Oregon, compared to their defense UM looks soft and plays fast as ****. It is night and day how theybolay vs how UM plays.I will take a top 10 D for the last 4 years any day, even if they play "slow" by your definitions.
Still a glaring coaching deficiency on defensive side of the ball. No changes?
King & Co aren't much good to us on the bench. (see 3rd down D)
Frasier Crane - I'm listening.
Is that not a valid criticism? If you play crappy teams to inflate your stats why shouldn’t that be pointed out?
This is where stats don’t tell the entire story. When a play is needed to be made this defense has failed to step up.
Hopefully we will finally scheme around our weakness instead of just beating our heads against the wall. The offensive is not fixed until the oline toughens up and can block instead of being soft *** babies. Once the oline is right the offense will be efficient
The scheme is trash unfortunately it’s nothing we can do about it until Diaz gets fired.
The criticism is that every time it mattered, they got exposed.. nobody said the defense wasn’t solid (or even good), they just weren’t dominant.so you are saying the defense is responsible for scheduling crappy teams? Argue the inflated stats all you want but that is missing the point. You can’t criticize a defense for something they can’t control. Criticize them for the stuff they can.
The gameplan we ran with vs FSU should be style we play for every game, keep it simple & attack.
we scored 0 points against La Tech. We could have held them to a field goal and still lost. How do you blame the defense for that?

How long could the defense hold off a highschool team? Look at the star ratings of these players. The fact they allowed multiple scores, let alone one, is an indictment. I don’t care how bad the offense is performing. If your team is pitted against pop warner, the other team will not score.
We are definitely not out coached most games on defense. Our defense is the only reason we didn't go 3-9 last year
We have been giving teams more offensive snaps by going 3 and out on all of these drives the majority of times in games.
