Maybe hiring Aranda is how they keep Raymond?

Not if Aranda's agent has any skills. "Sure it is a raise for my guy but he's better than Kevin Steele and you want to pay him less? Nope."

Why does that matter? He's a great DC, and it's obvious from him jumping onto a sinking LSU ship that he was open to move pretty much anywhere for a big raise. If you pass on a great option, then you better have a better option lined up. That's the way it works.

I won't judge this DC merry-go-round until Richt hires his guy. Then, we'll see who got the best guy.
 
Richt has said it a thousand times. It's not about making a fast hire it's about making the right hire and the right fit. He just isn't gonna make a hire to make a hire.

Aranda previously interviewed at LSU with Miles and apparently wanted the DC job they gave to Steele. This isn't about us or Richt.... I don't see any previous ties to us or Richt so no one should sweat it. If he was really Richt's focus, we might have him but I don't think he was a true candidate for the U except on this board and the buzz the board created. I hope we pull Raymond to the staff, as a result and then between him and Kuligowski... we're back in business like the Dukes in Trading Places/Coming to America.
 
This is a circle jerk. We'll know when we are told and some will love it some will not and some will wait and see. That is all.

Very intrigued to see how this marriage turns out.

I've got the same questions with Aranda at LSU as I do about him here. LSU fans are going to be going off the very second they see two down linemen when they are lining up across from Bo Scarbrough next year and Bo is eating a full course meal at their expense.

With that said, he's a very good defensive mind. I'd love to see if his scheme would work with these types of players.

Idk if we contacted him but stinks that we couldn't close on him since he ended up being a possibility

That's not a contradiction. He was available. I said it sucks we couldn't get him. He was a "possibility" meaning that he wasn't staying at Wisconsin and was going to wind up somewhere
 
Good to see not everyone has lost their mind and.or waiting/hoping to be able to **** on the program some more when the DC isnt the one that their "years of hiring DC experience" would have led them to. Still lots of potato chips in this thread.

He could name him at anytime then. The Skins are going to the playoffs. Its not like the end of the regular means he would then be available. You'd still have to wait until at a minimum the weekend of the 9th before his duties are over. If they won a playoff game he would miss the first official visit weekend.

I see that you realize you were wrong so you're resorting to talking about unrelated events.

Are you now arguing that he wasn't a possibility? I never said a good one.. But he's leaving Wisconsin and we're looking for a DC so... Yeah he was a possibility
 
Richt has made strong moves so far (along with ****canning the right people), so definitely gonna give him the benefit of the doubt.

No way that Aranda's going to make less than Steele was. That man is going to garner over a $1 million dollar salary.
 
Sucks. My top two choices gone to Michigan and LSU.

Richt is batting 1.000 as far as staff so far, but I'm not sure there is a DC out there right now that would have been as nasty as Aranda or Brown.
