Anybody else agree that A&M is a “must win” right now?

We are between a 7.5 and 9 point underdog right now.......we're not expected to win, how is that a "must win"? The only must wins are the games we're suppose to win. those are devastating if you lose. If we lose only to A&M and Clemson, this season at 10-2 is a success.

Expecting a win in this one is crazy. Pump the brakes with the expectations. This thing is going to take time.

We should all be rooting for a competitive showing. If we can do that at night in College Station, I will be happy. Anything more and I will be ecstatic. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, our focus should be Southern Miss.

One game, one quarter, one play at a time.

Listen…UF got what their program desperately needed by knocking off a “top 10 opponent”- a shift in momentum as far as National perception goes, but most importantly, from a recruiting standpoint. (Best CB in years just CB’d to the gates after that win)🙄

Fck all the talk. We been fed complete bullsh1t for FAR too long now as a fan base. Everything from “butt buddies” to “binders”- we have been through ****! *** the talk. Walk the walk. If this staff is what they claim to be- if Mario is “the guy”- after the A&M game, the National perception of Miami should be squarely trending towards “being back”- win or lose. If the perception is anything other than that, then we’ve lost more than that game, we will have most definitely lost a kid or two who we desperately need. This game is MUCH MORE important to us than it is to A&M for so many reasons and this coaching staff should have these kids come out and play like it.

And for those of you who will inevitably post the requisite “Mario needs time….it will take at least 3 years”…blah blah blah- STOPPIT. Been around this game- playing, coaching, watching for over 40 years and one thing has ALWAYS held true- whether it be players OR coaches- “if they don’t bite as pups, they won’t bite as full grown dogs”. It shouldn’t take a “good” coach with above average talent to make a statement and beat a team like A&M.
Bingo!! Point well taken.

Just because Vegas says we’re an underdog somehow means this game isn’t a must win for us? Lol. I don’t give a **** WHAT Vegas says, it’s a must win for Miami. UF AND FSU both won “big” games…and you don’t think it’s a must that we hold serve?!?! When we are after the same kids?!?!?? Sheesh🙄

No. Taking pressure/expectations off of this program right now is not beneficial to anyone, save for those individuals who want to keep this program “middling” because they have a personal agenda.

You must also be younger than I am because you're a moron that uses the word clown. You must really enjoy living on tik tok. Someone that has been on this planet for longer than 20 years should know reality but you instead oppose it and choose instead to live in your feelings and demand that the world do what's right for you because you "deserve it".

Only a ******* immature brat that has never had to deal with the real world believes this. It's on a long list of reasons you lack logic, reason, and common sense. That and you're a closeted jort wearing inbred trailer living hillbilly that lives in the meth capital of Florida. You're love for all things gaytor and what they do is sickening.
Well **** ...

OP starting this thread vs LCE posting the same thing:ROFLMAO:

A&M's game this week against App State will tell us a decent amount. App State is better than Sam Houston, and their offense is decent enough to put up points. If A&M struggles to put up points or generate big plays this week, again, that's a major red flag for them going into our game. Having seen their QB play, nothing about him scares me. He didn't seem very confident, and he made a lot of boneheaded throws. Their running game is also extremely unimpressive, and couldn't get anything going on the ground. Their offense is the usual slow and steady Jimbo offense that lacks big-play explosiveness. Imho Jimbo has reached the Mark Richt phase of his playcalling career. Once an elite play-caller, but now behind on the times as offensive play-calling has passed him.

Their defense, on the other hand, will be a major challenge. They are excellent, and we will need to capitalize on every scoring opportunity we can get because there probably won't be many.

Overall, this is definitely a game we can win. Beating A&M at Kyle Field, prime time, would be a statement win and surpass anything FSU or UF has done at this point. We'd be a Top Five team and in the playoff conversation. Lose in competitive fashion, and the story is we're not there yet, but the progress is evident, and additional recruiting classes will get us over the hump. We just can't have a bad outing.

Texas am isnt some dominant team with unbelievable qb play or anything, they are avg 8-4 team.. We should play them close, I expect to win.. I wont take beatdown and say its only year 1. Everybody tells me we have NFL qb, he needs to lead us that night, atleast keep it close. Perception matters, in these games over years we always get blown out, I want to see something different.. I think we have pieces to compete, first order of business is benching some guys on defense to give us a real chance.

Lol. Cognitive dissonance is real. These people can’t deal with the “new” reality right now. UF is perceived to be squarely headed in the right direction because of their “top 10” win. We need to respond in kind. And while I believe A&M is better than Utah, they are overrated and inflated- just like Utah. And yes- I believe we have a better team than UF, so we should expect similar results…
I watched that game completely. That was "Big Boy" football. I thought Utah played up to it's ability. What we did not correctly see is UF has a NFL/Heiseman type QB.

UF's defense forced two gigantic turnovers on the goal line to take this victory from Utah. Utah has some grown as men on their team. They got to the doorstep of victory and uncharacteristicly turned the ball over.

How in he'll do you make 2 turnovers on the goal-line?
You are right, our Canes must demonstrate we can go into Aggie land and play Big Boy Ball!

This....if our only losses are to aTm and Clumpson at their stadiums, with them being top 5 ranked...is a successful season...10-2 and being in ACC championship with a chance to win the conference and be home at Hard Rock for Orange Bowl...That would be a boom for this program and would have us with a top 5-10 recruiting class.

Solid, sound take…

FSU and UF still has the rest of their season to play and we get a chance to play FSU at home. Not sure why in **** these clowns on this site all of sudden saying A&M a must win now after one week when both those teams will most likely finish around .500. We’ll be underdogs at there house. Before the season most chalked it up as a lose. I think you soft shouldered moping pu$$ies just looking for something to complain about if we don’t win.

I agree with this… also if we do lose to 2 games I want it to be close competitive game… no blowouts

No disrespect, but are you a female, by chance? Because this is, typically, something a young female would post?
Lmao buddy first of all you must not use twitter, second I was agreeing you but good job I guess? Don’t be a ****head, respectfully of course

OP has a point that I tend to agree with. Our time is now. Get a statement win. This needs to be an expectation and not a hope. There's no need to rationalize a loss going forward with this staff. UF and FSU did what they needed to regardless of our fan base rationalizing that as well. It's our turn.
