This is definitely NOT an endorsement from me, and I've heard nothing to indicate this guy is a leading candidate or anything like that. So there is no need to overreact.

But a plugged-in source told me to keep an eye on this name, and the candidate has ties to Vilma (from the Jets) and Testaverde (from coaching his son).

Still would rather have Herman or even Fuente if that's the route they want. They have proven they can lead ..

For chrissake. If we want to go this ridiculous of a route based on image alone then just interview Pat Fitzgerald. At least he occasionally wins in a much harder place to recruit.
 
I'm glad they are exhausting every option, but they better get their list narrowed down real quick. that's why I don't think we hire an NFL coach. They couldn't start till early January, you'd basically say good bye to every early enrollee and a good chunk of the 2016 class
 
Well if he is being considered then my man in Washington should get a phone call as well. Coach Pete has actually won something....

If they are going in that sort of direction, then I would prefer Dino Babers or even the Toledo coach.
 
Who? I am getting tired of all these head games trying make believe someone other than Butch Davis has any business being the HC at THE U. GIVE ME BUTCH OR GIVE ME DEATH.
