If Burns moves to the WR side then who's covering the TE and/or the RB if he flares out?
So basically we got outschemed on that play and put ourselves in a position where there's a guaranteed five yard pick up, because theres no way crawford can get up there fast enough to make a real play there.
Thats what im getting out of this. And if both the TE and WR go out, how does burns cover both of them if they both go to his zone?
So if everything is standard run of the mill defenses that other teams run, what is the problem? This question is for coach Macho and please don't tell me the players are missing their assignments. Theres clearly a coaching problem.

SMH. Oh man.
#1 - I'm talkin about the Strong Safety that's lined up over the #2 receiver. Not talkin about Crawford lined up deep.
#2 - Burns only has a TE on his side. The only passing threats that can threaten his zone are the TE or Running Back.
If you move Burns over to the 3 Wide Receiver side, like you're hinting at, THEN NOBODY WOULD BE COVERING PASS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN!

My bad, I meant RB. If the only passing threats that can threaten his zone are the RB and TE, what happens when both of them go to his zone? How does he cover both of them?
So basically, we put our players in positions where they're outnumbered and still expect them to make the play. I'm beginning to understand why our defense sucks so badly.
See, I don't mind if people are gonna dog the pre-snap alignments but atleast know WTF you're talkin about.
The first play in question...
Burns HAS to be on the TE side. We're playing zone. Who do you think is covering the TE if he goes vertical? Also, what if they run toss? The problem is yall don't know the difference between zone and man. In zone, LB's match up with WR's all the time. Burn is either playing Cover-2, in which case he has the flats, or Cover-3 where he has the TE releasing vertical. The Linebacker that's lined up on the #2 is covering flats. Just cause he's got a ******' WR across from him doesn't mean he's playing man on him. SMH
Honestly, not a single alignment (screen shot) in this thread is wrong. They're all pretty standard.
The second play I know exactly what your talking about. Deon was signaling over for somebody they snapped it and threw it out to him nobody touched him for ten yards. Before the snap I was yelling at everybody with me what was gonna happen before the play even happened cause nobody was on him
Yep same here.
Here's that play:

If the opponent was 50-50 run, pass I'd agree with you. But with Nebraska that isn't the case. We already knew Ameer was going to get 30+ touches.

According to corch macho, theres nothing wrong with this alignment. No wonder this guy thought that corch D was some kind of defensive genius.
OK, so riddle me this: why is the OLB on top of PErryman in the pic lined up where he is? Why he isn't he lined up closer to the WR's so he can make a play on the slot guy if it's a quick pass?

Drrrr...
Cause he's the edge player and he's blitzing.
Again, you don't know WTF you're looking at. Teams like up this way against trips all the time.
