An underlying issue

Randy burned the bridges that al is trying to repair. how many coaches have talked positive about him and his camps? quite a few. I am getting sick of the nonsense. randy treated south florida kids like they were from boise, idaho. So he can recruit 2 stars from the west coast like asante and kelvin cain. or so he can recruit 2 stars like jimmy gaines from upstate ny. he was acting like they were hidden gems and no one wanted them prior to us finding them. also, he fired his staff every year. It wasnt al golden that chased Devonte Freeman to FSU. it wasn't al golden who abused and blamed jacory for all of south florida to see. it wasnt golden who had tommy streeter in the doghouse. lets get real here. its a young team. in the post-game conference golden said "what do you want me to go in there and bash seniors who stuck by us?" and he said as far as recruits, "we need your help." He is trying to say in a nice way, our seniors suck. plus, we have really no juniors so we are a team relying on fresh and true sophs. duke goes down he is replaced by dallas crawford, lets be real. there is no depth until 2014 arrive why do you think he wants everyone to early enroll. so he can get muscle on them and get them through spring. We have boys playing men. Denzel is the only man on our team right now. Tracy, Mccord, AQM, Kamalu, bush, etc will be much more improved next year as will grace, carter, and figs.

talk positive....Al is that you? You measure relationships by outcomes--recruits that sign with you..

in regards to getting local coaches…Barrow and Hurlie both played here and Kehoe was a staple here for how many years prior to coming back when Golden took over?? Coley grew up and started here at Norland. Hearing that miami needs to get more LOCAL coaches screams that these current hs coaches who believe this like Uncle Luke won't let their players go unless offered a job. It's also funny how they bashed what was going on with Randy and now with Golden in terms of bringing in local guys to coach/work. Randy had Hurtt, Bell, Harris, Tim Walton (now STL Rams DC), Barrow. Ulterior motives all over the place with these guys.

Sounds about right. And sounds straight out of the mouth of Genron, Ice, Luke and Chad --- Miami is too good for us. They don't recruit our boys. They are the uppity rich kids that don't want us at their school because we are ______. Hear it enough and the kid starts to believe it.

Young Pete appears to be struggling with street creed vs. recruiting analyst credibility.

None of what I posted comes from those 4

Does it start with them though? Not to you as a source. I'm not saying you should out any coaches. But if they are the leaders of the band, constantly banging the drum, then the other coaches and community advisors may march to that drum.

Genron and Chad aren't liked in the coaching community down here and that's no secret so I would not say that those two are really having an impact on other coaches. Luke is not currently employed and even if he was, that myth needs to be thrown out because the guy was at four Miami camps during the summer and he was with all the coaches as if there was no issue. His peers that I talked to at the time told me he was all Miami as well. As for Ice, four of his players are currently committed to Miami, so I don't see him as an issue like most of you on this board do.

What's wrong with the program:
1. We are being out coached every game.
2. Our DC stinks
3. South Florida recruiting has turned into AAU basketball, a game we cannot play being on probation.
4. Questionable non-offers. ( Treon, McKensie, etc)
5. Lack of playmakers and speed on both sides of the ball.
6. Our DC stinks again

Ask yourself this question, when is the last time you heard a recruit say I'm coming to Miami because of Jethro, Williams, or even Carroll. Hurlie, Barrow and Coley putting in work.

This coaches have egos and goes down to the kids. A Change on the defensive side is needed, how come some of these coaches dont like barrow? Is it cause he isnt standing up for some of these assistants and mentors?

You're either with us, or you're against us

This was cute a couple years back. Not so much anymore. We cannot ignore the reality or we will continue to see elite talent leave

We saw elite talent leave even back when that phrase was "cute." The fact is you win ball games and you'll sign a higher percentage of that elite talent but there will always be ones that get away.

Pete's post is why is was mind-boggling idiotic for the staff not to have offered Treon Harris as a QB (whether they thought he could play QB or not). In the hostile environment Miami operates in South Florida that Pete described, that's just not the way smart people do business. Huge strategic blunder IMO.

i credit this staff for not lying to players like harris who they know wont be a college qb.

I wanna answer every issue you got so work with me> Our defense is getting outcoached but offensively you cant really say that for sure when Morris ***** it up and the offensive line is playing like trash and soft so often. 2 is obvious, 3 is a great point that will now always be an issue we just have to work through it, 4 the no offers happen especially in a talent rich state like ours, 5 playmakers will build through time with recruiting and hopefully coaching lol at 6. Now I think Williams has mad respect as a coach but he's nto a huge personality which isn't a bad thing every program has that and Carroll to me still does a good job too but i agree with Jethro. I don't think the key is how often you hear about them in the community all of the time but how do they gel with certain local personalities

And then in a ssn if they determine he's not suited for QB, the local community lashes out that he wasn't given a fair shot and you get a team divided, he probably ends up transferring anyway and/or you get a Derrick Crudup situation in the media.

No it becomes a strategic blunder when you offer him as a QB then move him to DB.

You can't fault the coaching staff for being honest. If the kids in SoFl don't like that then there's plenty of other college coaches eager to feed them bull****.

Thanks. And I am not breaking your balls, but if not those "high profile" coaches, then who is the driver or does it go back to the low level people at the same types of places ---- the big guys like Ice aren't fighting publicly, but their assistants are driving the anti-Miami sentiment?

How are guys like Barrow not respected?
- Is it flat out his coaching or is this a class/income/race/"Uncle Tom" issue?

In your opinion of course.

With all due respect the game has changed bro. The fact is you have to have the talent to win ball games. We want Pete to be objective but we need to be objective. We don't live in those times anymore.

It was a miracle we got to 9 wins. Outside of the cupcakes we struggled all year. wins don't equate to progress otherwise we wouldn't be having this convo or still upset about what happened last night. Quite frankly this team did not improved from Sept to Dec.

WTF is problem down there? Texas, USC, Ohio State and Michigan can suck for years and their kids, area coaches and "mentors" stick it out with them, why is S. FL so diff

Ever been to South Florida? Ever seen most of the high schools where these kids come from?
ever been to south central Los Angeles? Ever see where the best players in so cal come from? Yet not the same issue as miami seems to have with the local community football wise...

Wasn't someone just questioning Dixon getting away from the streets and going to Columbus?

If they offered him at qb and he came then the day he gets put at cb locally they will kill UM because nobody will tell Ice or anybody else that Harris cant beat Williams, Olsen or Kaaya regardless of what anybody thinks
