An underlying issue

Yeah... I know barrow is respected in miami but them other defensive coaches.... Not so much except for Paul Williams...
 
paul williams took brandon mcgee and turned him into an nfl player after shannon wouldnt let him play. He is gonna make tracy, deon, carter, etc very good too.
 
If we get a top defensive coordinator and a qb who will let the playmakers make plays next year without throwing picks like AJ Mccarron does then will respect come? win and this all changes
 
i know there is an obsession with coach d on this board. however, morris is just as much to blame because he handicapped our team. According to ncaa, we are 119 or 120 teams in time of possession. Considering our defense doenst have the depth we need (i am not sure fsu could handle this) you wonder why they are exhausted and have horrible body language. at top defensive coordinator wouldnt have meant anything this year.

He is trying to say in a nice way, our seniors suck. plus, we have really no juniors so we are a team relying on fresh and true sophs. duke goes down he is replaced by dallas crawford, lets be real. there is no depth until 2014 arrive why do you think he wants everyone to early enroll. so he can get muscle on them and get them through spring. We have boys playing men. Denzel is the only man on our team right now. Tracy, Mccord, AQM, Kamalu, bush, etc will be much more improved next year as will grace, carter, and figs.

You can't keep blaming RS... 3 years later... We keep using Freeman as an example, but we had like 5 backs and Duke coming in the following year... You bring up Cain and Gaines but why haven't they been replaced? RS didn't burn any bridges... He endured the same thing every UM coach did... Local HS coaches get mad when you don't offer their players... That's why they are mad at Golden but if he wins they'll shut up... If they got mad at Erickson, Butch and Coker why is Golden absolved when he didn't accomplish half if what they did? RS isn't the problem our coaching is the issue...
 
Peter and others. We have no choice but to be content with baby steps. We have to be content with going 9-4 up from 7-5 up from the year before that. Miami is totally vested in the person of Al Golden who may be a promising work in progress rather then the finished product we all thought he was when he got here. He has made mistakes to be sure but we are all over the place when defining good decisions/bad decisions. Peter, You mentioned Coley as being a good addition yet our offence went backwards this year especially yesterday. Good addition/bad addition? Dorito capable/talent issue/terrible? Barrow/Franklin/Kehoe? We all have our opinions but in the final analysis Golden has to be true to his comment yesterday that he will objectively evaluate every part of the program. We have no choice but to take him at his word. It would be devastating to lose Golden now. Finally, I get some comfort by looking at FSU last year and this. Last year I was leaning towards thinking that Jimbo would never win big. How quick this thing can turn around. Hopefully it will for us.
 
golden could have bolted. the guy said he wants to be the first long-term coach. he wants to be our bobby bowden. he has said he cant believe how many coaches left us in past. god forbid he doesnt use this as a stepping stone and actually stays long term.

Are you serious? McGee played as a freshman in 09... And he had like 4 corners better than him... McGee wasn't better than DVD, Harris, Shields or Hill... Why are you still bringing up RS name 3 years later? Oh my that excuse is getting old...
 
A few things need to happen quickly...

> Maintain/improve this years class
> Remove current DC
> Bring in new DC with autonomy to run his scheme and choose his coaches.
> Change choirboy mentality..not saying go 180 degrees in the other direction...but 90 degrees would be a good start.

We have a difference maker at QB in EITHER Olsen or Kaaya. Improve the D and the wins will follow.
 
i was complimenting williams on his work what do you want me to say "losing vernon davis proves williams is horrible."

It's funny that the "mentors", Et al, now look down on the school and the product on the field. F&ck those mopes - they're never happy and honestly, will never be appeased.

All this talk is pointless when the bottom line is when we start winning, things will change.
 
Sounds about right. And sounds straight out of the mouth of Genron, Ice, Luke and Chad --- Miami is too good for us. They don't recruit our boys. They are the uppity rich kids that don't want us at their school because we are ______. Hear it enough and the kid starts to believe it.

Young Pete appears to be struggling with street creed vs. recruiting analyst credibility.
 
To add on I feel adminstration has cared less and less about the program for years adding on to that its also sad that a football traditional power can't even come up with funds for their own stadium, USC, Texas, Bama would never have this issue.
