Allison transferring

I'm just not sure how this narrative passes muster:

"Allison was a non-factor that was already buried on the depth chart......but him leaving clears the way for Perry to be the starter!"

Can't we pump the brakes on anointing the kid until he actually steps on campus and we get the first "insider" reports of how he looks against a non-high school defense?- especially when real Vegas odds would probably have Rick going the "safe" route with Rosier at least initially.

You don't see the crystal clear logic in the 3rd string QB quitting clearing the way for Perry to start? Wake up.

Sucks. I called this months ago. He has the best arm on the team but obviously CMR saw something he really didn't like. Hope he was right.

Richt didnt make him leave.
Yes he did. The second he let him get murdered behind our ****** second string o line against our second string d line which is light years ahead of them. That was CMR way of opening the door. Clearly he saw something watching him last year on scout team. Shame, neither one of these guys can make all the throws.

Would you rather win 8 or 9 games with guys like sheriffs or rosier or a talented guy with way more upside?

I'd rather win at least 10 games and the Coastal with whatever fūcking guy gives us the best chance to do that. I don't care who it is.

Richt runs a "pro style" system too.

Perhaps I worded that wrong. Richt doesn't want a pocket passer.. but you are correct.

Yeah. That's why he recruited Jacob Eason so hard and got him to commit to UGA before he got fired.

I forgot he can't change identities on offense when starting over at a new school.. especially considering the local talent. It's not like he would run the 3-4 and then change over to the 4-3... Oh wait.

New article in the herald says the reason Allison left is that Richt wants a dual threat guy at QB for now and in the future according to his dad,

“He loves Miami. We all love Miami, but the whole direction of the program is they want a running quarterback – a dual-threat quarterback,’’ Allison’s father said. “They want a different wrinkle in their offense.

Allison was a tougher, stronger armed Brad Kayak with less accuracy, less intelligence.

Richt wants someone who can move.

The game/offenses are changing and strict pocket passers aren't the fit and/or as desired anymore.

Doesn't mean he wants a "running" quarterback. He just wants someone who's athletic enough to escape the pocket and make throws on the move or run for 10-15 yards if need be.

We saw what happened last year because Kaaya didn't have that ability, and it sounds like Richt doesn't think that Allison does either. Nor is he blowing the coaches away as a pure pocket passer after almost 2 years of practice.

Like I said in another thread, tough minded kids who are willing to work their butts off don't transfer. Even if they are not as talented as the rest.

What about the kids who transferred here and succeeded?

I'm waiting for an answer to this.
The transfers who really made impact here didn't transfer here because for fear of competition where they came from. At least the ones I remember. Graduate transfers don't count. Please give examples so we can discuss why they transferred and how they did here.

So our only chance is totally untested freshman who couldn't enroll early to even learn the system in time to start conference play?

"Can you put in enough offense for him without him getting confused or rattled?" Richt said. "We hope to go at a pace that he can figure it out enough to compete, because the first competition is learning what to do. If you don’t know what to do, it’s hard to compete. You’ll make mistakes, you can’t run the system. Because you’re an athlete doesn’t mean you can ad lib all day and make something happen. You can probably do that more in high school than in college. Can he learn enough to function and play winning football for us? I don’t know. We’ll find out."

Rick just said exactly what the Living Legend has been saying about Perry. Phenomenal talent but that talent is useless until you know exactly what you are doing and can be comfortable as the leader.

CIS is always talking about talent and forgetting just how mentally tough it is to master a college offense (especially how Rick demands it be mastered) in a month of practice.
