Alabama's dominance in context: Death of CFB

Saban's 3.1mil mortgage was paid off by a "booster club" that also pays the property taxes each year. Do you know how much house you get in Alabama for that kind of money, Google the place, it looks like a lake front resort.
That's why Alabama is so successful and will continue to be.

Something tells me if we were undefeated this season then this thread would have never been made.

Where we are at a real disadvantage, is in our athletic director. You need an AD that has a vision for the sports programs. Look at the guy in Louisville. You think he gives two ***** about Bamas dominance. He hired the best coach he could regardless of. baggage. He's also forward thinking. That's what we've been missing. It starts with the AD, if he's an asshat it will reflect in your program.

Any other explanation are just excuses

You're right. AD's can't necessarily dismiss a candidate for a job just because of his past. PR moves are overrated. Unless someone commits a crime that lands them in jail, they need to be forgiven and trusted that they learned something from their situation. Petrino, Leach, many coaches. Art Briles will get another job too and he should. Just as long as he learned from his Baylor days.

If Petrino was available last year would Blake and the school have even considered him? I would bet the house they wouldn't have. There's a mentality winning programs have. I'm not saying Richt is a bad hire, but in the world of college football the AD has to want to win more than almost anything else. If one of the reasons you hire a coach is cause he has a clean image, well then you will most likely be mired in mediocrity.

Bumping another thread on the 'Bama $$$ topic, a lot of questions coming out again which were addressed here, but maybe some more input?

I think Alabama football is boring as ***. I hate Nick Saban, i hope he gets the AIDS.

Bumping this for New Year 2018 (Did it for New Year 2017) because the story hasn't changed; in fact it is worse:

-All $EC championship game

-First out was O$Uck

The writing is on the wall folks...

In a way I agree with what you're saying. But it is a shame that there has to be new rules to stop Alabama domination.

What new rules? The NCAA needs to apply the rules that are already in place to all teams instead of the witch hunting they do. Bama is one of the biggest violators of NCAA rules ever. This comes from someone who married into a bama family with former bama athletes in the family. The funny thing is they do a sh*tty job of hiding it too. But between NCAA never investigating any public allegations and the media being disproportionately benign when reporting anything about that school as well as other SEC schools, you have the current mess that is football today

NCAA same as Comey's FBI. Everything is corrupt these days. Congress, politicians, NCAA, UN, etc.

So, if UGA wins, is it still a problem?

Or does the doom and gloom only apply to a Bama victory?

Nope, UGA is on the money train now:

https://www.dawgnation.com/football/team-news/indoor-facility-not-only-benefit-for-ugas-kirby-smart

They they did it after Richt begged because Smart made his taking the job contingent on Georgia joining the big $$$ cabal.

Georgia is the lesser of two evils.

I’ll be pulling for them. Think they have a good shot.
