Alabama's dominance in context: Death of CFB

Best run in the modern era and they will continue it till saban leaves....mad jealous man cause sfla is helping the.

Whom from soflo are you referring to? I can only think of Ridley and cooper off the top of my head. I think that how sfl making bama great belief is misguided
I would agree with this. They have had a few key players and have Cowan and Jeudy committed this year, but they haven't been that reliant on player from SFLA.

Give credit where it's do re Alabama. Do agree with NFL and Roger Goodell. I think Bama runs football like it's own division with mutual autonomy by the Admin. They don't pretend that education, social discipline and restrictive team rules important. They understand what college football is and they provide the necessities, facilities and whatever, to maintain their competitive advantage. I don't accuse them of cheating just being better at the things that matter to recruits. A players skills mean more to them than some minor legal or social violation. They don't let supposed moral values supersede their true purpose.

But if 'Bama were cheating, how would the NCAA know? Here is a lightly commented thread I started on NCAA "Compliance:"

https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/ncaa-compliance-dont-laugh/101149?highlight=inspection

Bottom Line: Unless somebody reports it, the NCAA doesn't check it. After the UNC whitewash, do you think ANYBODY at the University of Alabama would report a similar academic fraud case? What if they did? No matter if they fled South to USA in Mobile or North to UAH in Huntsville for a new job, they would FEAR for their LIFE if it affected Roll Tide...Anybody from Alabama who says they wouldn't is lying.

bammer is dominant, but they are not memorable. they are just a boring machine that just beats everyone. Saban is the true star of their dynasty.

They will never have what Miami did. The renegade program that won with 3 different head coaches. They were flashy, and captured the imagination. had real superstars that would go on to have tremendous NFL careers.

With bammer you just fall asleep midway through the 3rd when you realize there's nothing interesting that will happen.

and they will lose this year in the playoff. Maybe to a team like Washington that has the playcalling style to upset them.

106-12 and 4 NCs since 2008. I'll take that kind of "not memorable" any day.

Alabama has won 4 NCs since the last time we won a bowl game.

In a way I agree with what you're saying. But it is a shame that there has to be new rules to stop Alabama domination.

They did create new rules to deal with us -- The Miami Rules. Bama is chump change until they can match that. We were truly feared, they are just part of the mercenary armies brought in to keep us down.

Memorable, define memorable.

I'd say what they're doing is memorable. Anyone new to college football or the last decade will remember their dominance.

What people remember about our teams of yesteryear is that they were thugs. While they weren't, that's what is remembered since our past glories. They remember dominance, but nowhere near what we remember of it.

This They aren't doing it in a memorable fashion is silly stuff.

alot of people do feel this current dynasty is boring, i know a lot of people here hate him but colin cowherd was spot on with this take on alabama months agohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaOLX87TQNQ

It also helps that they have the most advanced bag game ever.

Louisiana DA drops drug, gun charges; refuses to 'ruin' Alabama football players Cam Robinson, Laurence Jones' lives

According to television station KNOE, District Attorney of Morehouse and Ouachita parishes Jerry L. Jones said, ??"I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I'm doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and teenage years, working and sweating, while we were all in the air conditioning."

How big do you think that bag was?

the only thing people will remember from alabama's dynasty is how great Saban was. just like bammer's previous dynasty when you only remember Bear Bryant. that's what they will be known for.

the casual fan can't name any of their QBs. the only player who is truly recognizable is Juiio Jones. One. player.

just a machine with no personality.

CFB will get more interesting once Saban hangs em up.

I think what he means by not memorable is that they don't have an excited brand of football. Everything is dull about that program. Everything from the belicheck wannabe dry coach to the burnt red everywhere in that town. It's also not that exciting watching a bing of juice monkeys out muscle the other team

Alabama is winning national championships on neutral sites, not 3 times on their own home field. That alone is massive benefit of a doubt and separation.

Let's see how far they take it. Right now I more or less assume the title to them every season. Ohio State last season had remarkable talent level -- superior to Alabama's -- but the moronic decision to bench Cardale Jones in favor of J.T. "Little Game" Barrett essentially ruined the college football playoffs and immensely softened Alabama's path. Barrett managed a laughable 2.9 yards per attempt against a dreadful Michigan State pass defense last year, while losing at home as 14 point favorite. Yesterday Barrett averaged 5.7 yard per attempt as Ohio State failed as 18 point favorite at Penn State.

I will say that Penn State has very good pass defense this season. As always, that category dictates outcomes but is basically ignored by the sporting media.

By the way good call on the season

LMFAO at the "Miami played in the Orange Bowl, so those titles don't count" argument. Does that apply to LSU whenever they play in the Sugar Bowl, that's a home game masquerading as a neutral site. How about USC in the Rose Bowl? How about Texas in the Cotton Bowl? If you are a major program, located in, or near a major city, you will play some bowl games near or in your home city. That's not the fault of the school, it's not Miami's fault that they are located in a major city that happens to host a major bowl game. Just like it's not USC's fault that they are located in a city that hosts a major bowl game that usually takes the Pac-12 Champion.

Alabama is able to skirt rules and the like because the entire point of the school is to win football games. They are located in a small town, the local media won't do any kind of investigative reporting, and the boosters have the power and influence to strike down any local business, or person that comes out against the program. Miami doesn't have that, same with USC, same with SMU, same with any program located in a city. Miami got caught DEFRAUDING the federal government because our local media isn't owned by the boosters, they are actual journalists, looking for dirt. The same thing happened to SMU, Dale Hansen doesn't exist in Tuscaloosa or State College.

Butch could've been a poor mans Saban if he would've stayed at UM. He had us heading down the same path Bama is currently on.

The two have a lot in common. Both unbelievable pedigree (Jimmy Johnson & Belichick), both defensive minded coaches, 2 of the best developers of talent in CFB history, phenomenal recruiters, both were disciplinarians and very strict on and off the field, and both had crappy, short lived NFL careers.

So much Bama envy ITT. They cheat, they're boring, nobody knows their players. Who cares? They dominate and win championships. Saban runs circles around the competition, and when somebody catches up, he quickly adapts and keeps dominating.

News flash, Alabama doesn't need to cheat because they have the best everything. This years Alabama team may be the best time ever. They simply don't make a lot of mistakes.

You don't think they cheated to get those players? Come on Andrew you are better than that. We will never have a payroll like they have. We will have to depend on trying to keep S. Florida talent home. Until they get busted it will continue to happen.

Eddie jackson haha clinton dix.....i know theres more.........without cooper they wouldnt have won one of those ridley too. Bank on this too they will have the most ayers in the NFL for a long time and that td streak and first round streak they snapping both them shyts. What saban has done there is historic and is what we were about to do but butch left.

This y i wanted butch i wanted the dominance part not winning here and there. I know people bring up his record but real fans n real football geeks knew if he stood the wins were coming and the croots were developing into first rounders n becoming peo bowlers. I dont care what no one says we do not recruit at that level anymore.....until i see a coach that we have close on nsd and with oos studs i will stand by that.

If MR can get McFarland... Juedy....Smith.....and some surprises ill believe. His defensive crooting looks acc title game worthy but now hes losing dudes.....so much for paradise bs knew that **** couldnt last the whole recruiting period....we have to recruit out of our fkin mind not that oh we got a top 15 clas bs. Top 15 is bulllshyt n wont win u **** (titles).......no excuse not to have a top 5 class where we r located.
