AFTER A&M what is our record CIS?

Same as before the season and game for me.. If TVD plays at the level he did yesterday all season, we'll be a great football team.

8-4.

The depth of the team is the problem.

It was VERY apparent last night when the injuries started to pile up.

+ Moten isn’t ready for more than 10-12 snaps a game.
+ Horton isn’t physically ready either.
+ Acheampong is a 2-year project/conversion.
+ Safety depth is non-existent.

The worst case scenario is the injury slamming into those two positions on Defense and guess what happened…
This is stupid. There were six "expected" wins on the schedule, four "expected" losses, and two toss-ups. You expect to go 50/50 in the toss-ups. That means you "expect" 7-5 before the season starts. We are paying Mario $8M because the administration, the boosters, etc all think he brings us better than "expected" results. They did not deliver that last year for a myriad of reasons. Now we have flipped one of the "expected" losses into a win. That means you should expect 8-4. Again, we are paying $8M to do better than expected.

9-3 should now be the floor.

Moten was solid yesterday

Originally thought 8-4. I feel 100x better about the team this year and think we could win every game on the schedule. I still think we’ll drop a game or two or maybe even three.

Very excited about this season though

Which teams on the schedule have they great depth? We have enough depth for this schedule
Any long term injuries on the D line. There's always a game when the D will have to win it for us and if those guys go down we'll be in trouble.

We will be ok we aren’t going to be facing elite o-lines. Gore and campbell can play vs those guys

Still think 9-3, 10-2 would be nothing short of incredible even after we’ve reset expectations

we just beat the most talented team we’ll play all year but they are far from the best. FSU, UNC, and Clemson all better than A&M I believe
Nope. UNC is weak. Struggled with App State and lack physicality.

Clemson isn't better than A&M. I don't understand how you make that statement given they got beat by Duke and actually trailed against Charleston Southern 14-7 in the 1st quarter.

A&M is a physical team with a lot of playmakers. Just because we beat them doesn't make them a bad team.

The crazy thing is how much the rankings are based on last year. Does FSU really deserve to be ranked #4 just because they beat LSU who looked terrible, but was given a high ranking based on last year.

If A&M throttles LSU, what does that mean for the rankings? It's so subjective. They won't drop FSU for beating a weak team. Nope. They still get credit for beating an overhyped LSU squad.

We beat the most physical and talented team on our schedule. There isn't any team we can't beat including FSU and Clemson. UNC is going to
get punished on the ground and the air. I think we'll hang 50+ on them.

We have the best OL and arguably the best or 2nd best QB in the ACC.

No one should be crowned anything. The season has just begun. The ACC is wide open. Time will tell us all we need to know.

Some of you are overrating UNC and Clemson, they look bad.....
It seems that the NIL era is hurting Swinney and Clemson. Swinney said before he didn't like NIL. it even seems like it is affecting Bama as now everyone can do what they were likely doing for years.

They made me a believer. Not just becasue we won, but also HOW we won. We looked like the better coached, more talented team. I think we win 10.

I would even say I think we have the coaches, the schemes, and the top-end talent to be a playoff team. However I'm still nervous about our depth at certain spots and I think we might need one or two more recruiting classes + portal to injury-proof ourselves enough to make a run deep in to the season.

But I am very encouraged and impressed by what Miami showed the world yesterday. This is a team coming up. 10 wins is very much on the table and if we get lucky and stay healthy, sky is the limit this year.

I hate to **** on the parade here, but we won’t win every game we should. We don’t have the depth or culture to fight through a full season without a letdown. Yet. Going 2-3 on UNC/CLEM/FSU with a loss to somebody stupid is still a huge year. I think that’s plenty to get us a monster recruiting class and set us up nicely for next year.
9-3, 10-2 with some luck. Or 7-5 with the other kind of luck.

I'm not predicting anything until we show we can hang with Temple. I don't necessarily mean a win, but that they don't give up and is in it until the end.

I’ll stick with 9-3. The uncertainty surrounding our defensive injuries is too great to consider bumping my projections into that 10 range.

I also don’t want to get ahead of ourselves until we can soundly continue this trajectory and easily disperse of lesser teams such as GT. We’ll have a target on our back now.

agreed. as good of a win as this was, we still need to show we can be the type of team that does it week in and week out, *and* we are staring some pretty serious depth issues in the face this year. depending on how that goes, 8-4/9-3 would still be a **** of a season for me.

I think we could really hold up. Agree 9-3 should be the floor BUT these questions for me:
  • Can the OL continue to dominate games
  • Can we run the ball if need be… lots of “air raid” wrinkles for ATM, others will not be as surprised
  • Injuries…how nicked up we get in a few places. Depth is a real concern
  • Is ATM for real. Everybody thought they would roll us….I hope they recover 😈
Love the moxie the Canes have displayed so far. Just want to keep that fire. I think we look the part but I am a football dullard.

Who had a guaranteed 6-wins? You?

That’s your perspective and opinion.

Using that as a statement of fact to rebuke another opinion is even more impressive.

Iono.

We can beat them.
That App State game.... UNC Run D is grade A FDA approved 💩
No doubt. Most teams drop a game they shouldn't. 10-2 should be the consensus pick assuming we still drop the game in Doak and one of Clemson and UNC. I think this team is winning at least one of em regardless but most teams also drop a game they should win. We handle UNC on the road and I think we will tcb at home vs clemson. Probably still drop a road game where **** goes sideways like what just happened to Clemson at Wallace wade to drop us to 10-2 but until we knock off UNC I"m thinking 9-3 will be the most likely record.
