A Legendary Perspective on Game 1...

It’s not out of the question to think that we can play three or four lost **** team in a bowl.

Turds go 9-3 or 8-4. I forget the current bowl affiliations, but assuming we are 9/10-3 or 11-2, with a loss to Clemson (and maybe some other dumb fūck random loss)

It could happen.

If it does, we put our foot up all the way up their *** up to our knees.

The biggest unexpected disparity in this game was in how each DL pressured the opposing QB. I expected that to be a wash or for us to do slightly better against their new OL than they did against ours.

I wasn’t overly familiar with just how impactful Greentard would be. He completely annihilated us and was the single biggest factor in their favor.

You guys can’t point to a single play here or there by Thomas or Perry’s cuck, but if you’re going to analyze every single mistake, then you need to also look at all the individual mistakes they made. It would be about a wash in the mistake and sloppiness categories.

The one constant, though, throughout the game, that wasn’t a single play or an isolated mistake was the steady beating Greentard and Daphne Zuniga put on us. We didn’t do anything close to that to their green OL. And that’s why they won.

McEltooth and Shytface Mullet either did a much better job evaluating 3 and 4 star OL than we’ve done, or they’ve coached them up better. The talent level at OL is supposedly very even if you listen to the rankings that everyone obsesses over.

Let’s move on to the vaginal drip I’ve seen on here after the game, and how the bar has suddenly moved to us being devoid of talent. And how 8 wins will be a good season. Yeah. Fck that.

We might not have NC level talent or depth, but I’m not buying into the new narrative that we are an 8 win team. Not in this division. And not with this schedule.

The expectations should remain unchanged. Win the Coastal, or it’s a big fail. Some of you guys get carried away in either direction. We just lost a game that easily could have gone either way to a team with equal or slightly better talent at what was ostensibly a home game for them. There’s no Coastal team even in that ballpark.

That was, by far, what SHOULD BE the worst you will see us play all year. If our coaches are any good, we will make an enormous improvement between games 1 and 2 and steadily get better every game. That’s what good coaches do. That should bode well for us as we played our best opponent first.

So before you pvssies get permanently stuck in the fetal position, remember we’re in the weakest division in P5.
Or both.

Agree with you generally. We should still win 9-10. No reason we can’t. We won’t face a better team, not because Florida is so good but because, as you note, our schedule is weak.

Great post and completely agree.

We can win our division and the mistakes made last night are fixable. Time to see if we have coaches capable of doing that.

4 turnovers resulting in 3 points
Muffed punt
Missed field goal
Fake punt
UF making 4 4th downs
JT dropping that TD
135 penalty yards

I want to see this squad in November.

IMHO we did everything we could to give them the game. They didnt take it from us straight up.

The OL is unfixable. Fantasy to think otherwise.

The only saving grace is if ACC DLs line up pop warner athletes.

While game experience and talent might be even (or slightly in our favor), 4 of their 5 starters are 4th year players that have been in a D1 S&C program since their freshman years while Nelson, Scaife & Campbell are true freshmen or sophomores. That's a huge factor on the OL.

Here here!!!! Totally agree and my fave and most accurate sentence was this one, "I’m not buying into the new narrative that we are an 8 win team. Not in this division. And not with this schedule."

Yall have to pay attention to what our d-line was asked to do. They were told to contain franks. Looking back at the game garvin was spying on franks a lot.

The d-line was basically trying to force franks to his left and garvin was spying him on that side. Uf d-line was just pinning their ears back and coming.

Exactly our defense balled solidly for the most part, as the tackling and communication improves, we'll be even better. The one bomb was the biggest mistake in the game defensively cause it hurt us worst than the missed tackles on gigolo toney the one and only. Our run defense was solid, and the b&b(Blades & bandy wasnt having it out their) connection played strong! Had franks put the ball on the money about 2 times, bandy would've been looking like the notre shame remix 2.0! I had no problem with our defense for the most part, 4 turnovers and 3 points is pathetic, our defense if healthy should improve, but we straight over their with the 1st team unit for sure!

I like the real live work campbell and nelson got, they'll either sink or starting redemption swimming. One things for certain, jarren has alot of faith in his o-line, if he starts climbing the pocket, that'll help our tackles out a lil more, game experience is game experience. I tell you what, you want to get a lil amped up, besides that last snap, go and watch corey gaynor out their starting to look like his old highschool film, just pancaking guys left and right!

I thought we could have still stopped the run without playing him so much. UF wasn’t overly physical up front. But it’s a minor quibble. I’m happy with our DL.
The DL let me down a bit. I thought we would have at least 3 sacks this game but barely rushed the passer

One thing that bithered me that I didn’t mention in the OP is the pace we played at. It was even slower than the Rickety era. We ran the play clock down Dean Smith style on almost every snap. And we had a bunch of delay penalties and TOs to avoid delays.

I was anticipating a much better pace under Enos.

I'm surprise there is no mention of the excellent playcalling by our DC Blake Baker, I loved the way he called the game

Chise I had seats literally right behind the UM bench on the 50(one of the perks of being at ESPN, lol) and it was noticeable how slow the play calls were being sent in by our sideline. I mean, the clock would be under 15 seconds, and Jarren is still looking over to the coaches. It was maddening. You could see the delay of games/timeouts coming

That's one of those operational things that have to be cleaned up before Chapel Hill

I don't agree with it but you can see that the coaches was concerned about him running. I would have like to see them try to apply more pressure because he would have likely threw more picks.
We could have forced 6 picks the way that Frankenstein looking goofball was throwing it up for grabs. He was panicking as soon as he saw a flash of a UM jersey.

If the plan, indeed, was to keep him in the pocket and spy him it was pretty dumb. We should have beat the fck out of that big goofy pvssy. I swear he would have thrown 6 picks last night. When we didn’t put any pressure on him he actually made a few good throws.

We should have attacked that guy with 1 extra guy rushing on almost every play. Instead, he had time to throw and our LBs were being forced to drop into a softish zone. Was maddening to watch. I think Baker thought our front 4 would apply pressure without help but that didn't happen especially when Garvin was tagged as a spy. DTs got little pressure/collapsing and Patch - as much as I love the guy - simply wasn't the answer. Going to need to disguise blitzers from here on out and send in the striker to add that extra rusher AND play hill/the big frenchman.

I wonder if Enos was rusty or just **** the bed. It would be even more troubling if he actually intended to play stall ball like that. Did we even run 65 plays yesterday? I hate stall ball. It comes off weak to me.
