A couple of thoughts

Texas was down 10 in the 4th.

Alabama was down 8 in the 4th

Virginia needed OT against UNC

Louisville was in a dogfight against BC

Oregon was only up 14-0 in the fourth against WISCONSIN!!!

USF blew a 17 point 4th quarter lead.

SMU lost to Wake Forest

We won by 5 touchdowns. Try and enjoy it.
When it comes to this site anything other then complete annihilation of our opponents is a failure.. we got ppl in here predicting future losses after a 42-7 blowout lol

Anyone that thinks yesterday was a good performance clearly either doesn’t watch football other than Miami games, or is delusional.

Referencing the score, or stats…further emphasizes the point. Our short yardage plays didn’t change, our plan of attack didn’t change, our aggressiveness didn’t change.

You can be happy with the win while also voicing that nothing changed week over week in terms of scheme or preparation.

Stanford would lose to FCS teams. But we’re onto SMU, another bad ACC team but at least has an OC and QB that could give us problems. Gulbranson wouldn’t start at American Heritage, and that’s the gods honest truth. He gifted us 14 points, and thank god for Malachi Toney cause he gifted us another 14-21.

I just can’t see how anyone can call themselves impartial and is blue in the face defending how we approached the game. It’s the same people that said we blew out FSU too, but if I’m referencing the score, we didn’t.
In your opinion what final score would you deem as a “good performance”? First half went terrible & Second half we adjusted & it went pretty good , id say overall it was a decent performance n we took care of business.

There’s no narrative. Mario wants to control the trenches in particular between the tackles. We ran between the tackles last year as well. If we brought in Andy Reid we would still want to control the game between the tackles.

It’s not a bad thing. When it’s clicking it’s pretty **** impressive actually.
I think our offense would be much more explosive if we had someone better then Beck under center ..seems like Dawson or whoever doesn’t completely trust him or have confidence in him to run a free flowing offense especially after those 4 terrible picks he threw last game, it was painful to watch in the first half. You would’ve thought he was a freshman with training wheels on.

It could be some of that age old thing where you “fall back on what you know”

Things get tight it’s like a reaction to go right back to the power run game for better or worse

They need to trust the guy is 30-4 n was paid 4 million, if the fate of our season lies in his hands so be it, it would be the most frustrating thing ever to watch us conservatively call our way into another L cause we’re trying to baby/protect him .. let him run the offense ..if we go down with him throwing picks then so be it this is YOUR guy.

its obvious dawson/mario were scared to let beck air it out after the 4 int game although i disagree with the strategy. against a depleted and poor stanford secondary is exactly when i would let beck throw to get more confidence

Also will never understand how an OC doesnt sit down with their QB and align on their best and fav "money' concepts. I mean im sure dawson/beck have but doesnt really seem like it based on last game. Give beck some quick 5-10 yard throws to get going (not talking bubble screens either although some are fine) and then some PA mid/deep.

It rained pre-game and on/off (sometimes hard) during the whole game. The field was slick and guys were slipping all over the place. The uncovered fans were all soaked. If you weren't at the game STFU. If you were, then you must have spent most of the game in the AMEX lounge watching on TV. In the postgame on WQAM Beck mentioned the rain affecting plays several different times.
I was at the game. Why else would I have commented? Section 140 row 12. So yes, not under the cover. Not once I the first half did anyone in my section run for cover.

OK and was the field slick with guys slipping and falling? Were there a lot of dropped passes some of which could be due to the slick ball or wet gloves?

Our offense is so slow. I’m rewatching it. And I just realized on our first TD drive we lined up around their 27 yard line with a little under 6 minutes left in the first half. We scored with 1:15 left. 8 plays and about 4 and a half minutes to go 27 yards with almost half of that yardage coming on Toney’s jet sweep.

And then Mario chickened out and let Stanford run out the clock.
