5-Star Michel Attends Junior Day

Not be dismissive of the other RBs, but It's silly to hear about competition because these kids will only play with Duke for only 2 years max. The kid seems To have a Cane mentality based on what I've read, but long way til signing day. Would be nice if one of them just committed now and became the rock of next years recruiting class.

It would be better if one commits in the summer and recruits the other but with that said if we get Lockette then i believe Cook isn't far behind, also Darling is gonna be a lock to stick sso they both can go hard to help convince Sony to come

To get Michel, we're going to have to prove to him that we're still a big-time program that can win big games and produce big-name players. He already has a great relationship with our staff and has for years. He grew up a UM fan. He's already at a private school with no shenanigans (or at least, none that we know of). His head coach is a 'Cane. We have a staff full of elite recruiters. As long as the NCAA sanctions are behind us, we should be in a great position to land him, but it's going to be tough because Sony is going to be a top-5 national recruit and the biggest RB prospect down here in a looooooong time (I think Duke is pretty much the GOAT but in terms of attention). We will be negative recruit against plenty, especially if we hire Lockett, but that seems like it would actually backfire on a kid like Sony. But none of that matters if we have another 7 win season. He will absolutely go elsewhere. We need to play in a BCS bowl, and if we are, that means Duke had a huge season, which would probably be huge for Sony and that means we're in an incredible position to land him. He's a gamechanger...now just win .

Pretty much nailed. What I want to add is this kid already knows a ton about the process. He's visited a bunch of places and has heard it all already. He's not going to fall victim to the overwhelming feelings a lot of these guys get when they leave town.

Win = Sony

I don't say "must get" very often but he is.

And he isn't one to please people just because he enjoyed a game or recruiting event, like someone who shall not be named.

Add Lane to this conversation because Bama will do anything for him so we have to win even though we got Herb who was his teammate and Barrow who is family if we dont win they both may win

We've been on him for a few years....I really hope the staff can reel him in. Kid was sick before he got hurt.

He is just as good after injury. Watched him a few times this year he is still explosive. I think the injury is a main reason he doesn't mind having a two back system.

Sony sounds like a seasoned vet at giving interviews so I wouldn't read too much into his statement. It's a long way to go, but I like our chances.

That's what stands out to me about Sony. He is a polished professional in everything he does, even though he's a high school kid.

The way he prepares, the way he interacts with the media, the way he performs. Just a focused guy who wants to live up to the hype.

“One of the factors of my decision will be going to a school that has another great running back because I want to be able to compete everyday in practice and know that I’m working.”

Love this. That's exactly what we need to hear from the guys that want to come here.

dammit mane...

This NCAA **** is only hurting our chances with Sony. That was said to be the only thing that keeps him from committing to Miami.

Just something I read a few times here and there.

Unresolved and/or heavy sanctions from the NCAA would be the only reason he doesn't sign with Miami.

If Sony commits before this season starts and KC follows shortly thereafter, then watch the **** out. This could go down as the best recruiting class not only in the country, but in recent University of Miami history (at least). We are going to rape South Florida if Sony hops on board because kids down here WANT to play with Sony and Yearby badly. Lets get the ball rolling Sony, your commitment would really mean a lot brotha. And BCS bowls will become a regular thing if you hop on board, thats a guarantee.

Agree with this, the momentum those 2 committs would generate would be something to see.
