247 Projecting every ACC team final record

ESPN's algorithm is worse. It has us at 5-6 with only a 30% chance at 6 wins.
ESPN's pre-season FPI (or whatever they call it) relies almost entirely on last season's results. The formula tends to get more accurate as the season progresses but before they play any games, it's pretty worthless.

Did they account for the talent drop at LSU?

It’s almost like they looked at Miami’s recent record vs Power 5 teams, noticed that this season’s schedule is almost exclusively Power 5 teams, and then put two and two together.

Weird.

The expectation should be to beat every team you’re better then. We are better then everyone we play except Clemson & UNC i’ll conservatively give a push. 2 losses max.

Can`t blame anyone for not thinking highly of us. However, If Miami loses 4 or more games then it is time to clean house from top to bottom.

As much as I want to agree... we can’t. I mean it has to be Willy Taggart level bad if that’s the case. Obviously Diaz didn’t do us any favors with his bull **** in year 1.

First the first time in a long time we actually hired a hot shot OFF coordinator. We haven’t had a competent OC since Chud. Lashlee is young and hes had a decent track record at his stops. Things look promising.

We have to give Manny some time to get the O rolling. I’m beating a dead horse but we have talent especially on O, but we need to take advantage of it.

There is definitely going to be growing pains with Manny. Hopefully the Defense stays stout and the O can finally help us out for a chance.

Louisville won 7 games last year, which was a significant improvement from winning only 2 games in 2018 I believe. Their head coach is for real, they have a lot of fire power on offense. Would not shock me one bit if we lose that game. But we better not...

Virginia Tech has a mobile QB so that’s probably going to expose Baker’s scheme (again). They did lose their best CB, he opted out. Honestly, all these games are toss ups to me until Miami proves it on the field.

We lost to VT last season bc of 4 1st QT turnovers. Thanks Jarren

If we can eliminate that we roll those ****

If we had a kicker who didn't make me want to drink bleach every time he attempted a PAT, we're 8-4, maybe even 9-3 last year.

Granted, we would've been a pretty bad 8-4 team, but we could have been 8-4 in spite of having one of the worst OL's we've ever had, Penos's butt cheeks scheme/wet playbook and a potato under center.

The talking heads can doubt us, we haven't given them many reasons not to.
But if you watched all of our games and understand how we managed to lose some of them, then consider what Manny's done to address those issues, it's really hard not to expect another 2-3 wins minimum. Gotta go do it though.

There is a lot of ‘new’ in the offense, and there may well be off games. 2020 is a weird season for all teams, not only Miami.

The key will be keeping focused. We’ll know more if after UAB and Louisville. Hopefully the team won’t come out flat and is able to rebound after the inevitable adversity.

I’m calling 9-2. Loss @Clemson and one game due to an off day.

We are fans so we will see everything in positive light.. but you cant lose to that GT team, struggle to last possession with directional michigan team (i dont remember which one), blown out by freaking FIU, and shut out by La tech and then hope for benefit of doubt from talking heads the next season..

Everyone should basically be like prove it, we have the talent but get it done on field..
Lol “directional Michigan”

Perkins was probably the best running QB they played all year and that was the best defensive performance of the season. The offense kept trying to lose that game but they he defense was not having it.

The terrible record in close games could have easily been the other way around . While an 8 or 9 win season would have felt a lot better than 6-7, it was better for the overall health of the program to lose those close games. Imagine if they had gone like 8-5 and Dan Enos and Jarren Williams we’re both coming back? Those bad losses allowed Manny to purge a lot of the problem areas with the team. At the very least, how much better is it knowing that in a close game, a chip shot field goal won’t be a total crap shoot?

And we now have a mobile QB with a 50 TD season (in 10 games) under his belt. I like our chances. Mopes gonna mope. But mofos have never seen MIAMI like this!
