Butch is ok if he brings in a monster OC and a dynamic DC. I couldn't stomach a John Shoop type of hire at OC though.

I'd like to see him hire Kevin Wilson as OC when he gets fired Indiana. And bring in Leavitt as DC. If he does that, then I'll be ok with Butch.

If he sticks with his stone age ultra-conservative vanilla approach to offense, gear up for a lot of 8-4 finishes.

Gran has done a great job at Cincinnati. Funny thing is everyone was higher on Coley than Gran when Gran was a RB coach at FSU and Coley was the OC (in name only). Now, Gran has proven to be a far better OC than Coley.

Butch bringing him in for the recruiting connects. If the team is successful mario will likely get a job somewhere else before butch is gone. He likely figured it would be the best way to get him here by naming him "hciw".

Yep. Gran got the opportunity to call plays and took off, actually looked like he learned something under Jimbo. Coley **** the bed in that regard with his opportunity.

A lot of what I discussed is stuff me and D$ have talked about.

I do agree with your approach with Butch. I personally want Gran and he has heavy south fla ties but I like Wilson as well. Leavitt would be my #1 for DC.

Buthc said working for ESPN has helped him alot because he travels around to camps and meeting with coaches and learns what are ways to adapt.

That would be ridiculous. HCIW means nothing. Will help in recruiting, especially with the local guys who have a hard on for Mario. Will mitigate the competitors' recruiting angle that Butch will only be around for a few years and you have no clue who may be your coach. In the grand scheme, it's irrelevant as long as Butch does what I expect him to do and puts together a real staff and professional organization.
