Trevonte Citizen injury considered serious [Sep 23 - *may* return this year]

Derrius Davis - he's listed at 165 (but only 5-8 so more compact. Ajay Allen is listed at 5-11 186 and CJ 6-0 180 so not a huge difference in their builds IMO. Neither are built for 15+ carries, but 3-5 shouldn't be a problem.

I don't see the path to Citizen getting carries right now. Breaking him in against Top 15 teams like FSU & Louisville doesn't sound like a smart plan to me. I get we want something more from our RB's - but unless Citizen looks noticeably better than out current RB's in practice - I don't think...

Trevonte Citizen injury considered serious [Sep 23 - *may* return this year]

That's great to hear on Trevonte. You have much more knowledge than I do on his injury. I really hope we see him on the field this year. I hope when I say "I've lowered my expectations" it doesn't read as "I've written them off" because that's not the case at all. I have a lot of hope still...

I don't see where I used the word history - but you're correct if you mean that I haven't seen him play before, so I have no history there. And I have no knowledge of his injury outside of what I read on this board. My feeling for Citizen & Chaney is the same for any player that misses 2...

I feel so bad for Citizen & Chaney. Still rooting for them, but I've definitely lowered my expectations for both. Just terrible luck with injuries.

Trevonte Citizen injury considered serious [Sep 23 - *may* return this year]

From what I remember (I could be wrong) - we heard Chaney was an ACL pretty quickly, but for Lingard & Cam Harris it was cloudy for a while if it was definitely an ACL or not. Also thought this was interesting - Cam tore his ACL in the UNC game on 10/16. But he said on the podcast posted today...

Not when it's Original. He's fascinating. I always want to hear more. When it comes to the "freshman RB's playing a ton is extremely uncommon" theory - here's more examples just using Miami & our coaches Miami - Freshman Carries Duke - 139 Walton - 129 Yearby - 86 Chaney - 68 (11 game season)...

A Naked Gun reference pairs well with your "Freshman RB's don't play" theory - since both are from the 90's You're still my favorite Original!

Congrats - you just proved the point I already agreed with you about So I should shut my ***** mouth up....because I'm agreeing with you? I said - "If you said of the 120+ RB's that will be Freshman this year - a small % will play "a ton" this year, then you're absolutely correct." The data...

You're the only one disagreeing with me - so what's that tell you? It's ok to admit "oh man, I didn't realize there were that many Freshman RB's leading their team in rushing"

I don't have a source, just going off of memory and looking some up. Anyone can double check, or disagree with some, but here's how I looked at it: 14 are Clear Cut Starters (44%) Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook, Nick Chubb, Saquon Barkley, Leonard Fournette, Aaron Jones, Breece Hall, David...

Trevonte Citizen injury considered serious [Sep 23 - *may* return this year]

How is leading your team in rushing not "playing right off the bat"? I clearly defined "great" as NFL starters & "tons of playing time" as leading their team in rushing. That came to 50%, which doesn't meet my definition of "extremely uncommon", and you didn't like that. So I gave you NFL...

These aren't "my" stats. They're just "the" stats. Which ones are you questioning? I agree there's plenty more - here's just some of them: Starters: Cam Akers, Travis Etienne, JK Dobbins, Austin Ekeler Back-ups: Ronald Jones, Duke Johnson, Isiah Spiller, Myles Gaskin, Semaje Perrine...

True Freshman. I can't even remember the last big time RB that redshirted & wasn't injury or suspension related. Lamar Miller maybe?

50% of this year's starting NFL RB's led their team in rushing as a True Freshman So you saying "even with great backs, getting tons of playing time in their first year is extremely uncommon" is false. It actually happens all the time. Seems strange to argue otherwise

This isn't really the case anymore. Most of the top NFL RB's lead their team in rushing as Freshman: Jonathan Taylor, Dalvin Cook, Nick Chubb, Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon, Leonard Fournette, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Breece Hall, David Montgomery, James Conner The ones that didn't play right away...
