No - just a poster on CaneSport made that comment.

There are different positions being filled and roles available. "Lost traction" perhaps as OC ... but that is only one possible role.

No he means that we didn't manage to hire Candle last year when he was ready to take the job ... and bailed when it was confirmed to him that he could not bring any of his own assistants.

Any guesses as to the realistic probability of an OC actually being named before Monday?

It was "established" (loosely used term) by a CSI vote, Mario be damned.

His buyout in his 2019 contract was $450K so even if it doubled with the new deals it is nowhere near the $4 million Blake paid to "snag" Manny. Did read one comment saying Candle's wife wanted nothing to do with South Florida ... but no idea if that was a genuine fact.

Ferman is posting some ground breaking comments today "Mario would be smart to monitor Saban, see who he is talking to and get a feel for the market". **** ... Mario has known for 2 months they would be making a new hire ... and NOW he should start looking at Saban and get a feel for the...

Could very well be doing just that if the new hire is currently an OC with a college program ... does not want to negatively impact THEIR current recruiting class. So ... we should hear by Friday then?

Yeah, doesn't want any WR recruit to get too excited and actually sign.

But Mario has known for 2 months that Gattis was being replaced. The entire preliminary selection process should have been done a while ago. This should have been Gattis fired on Friday and new OC announced Monday.

Look at his track record. Couldn't hire any of the "targeted candidates" in 2022 ... they all turned the job down and he ended up with basically a panic hire of Gattis. Putting together a list of high quality candidates is one thing ... but being able to hire them is something altogether different.

Apparently UM thought they had Hartline lined up for OC as "reportedly" they were telling that to WR recruits and it leaked ... voila ... Hartline promoted to OSU OC. Back to the drawing board. Some say Candle was contacted / offered and declined (others refute that). Might end up being a matter...

I have seen some people mention him ... generally as a QB or WR coach along with a bigger name OC ... to step in when the big name leaves.

Not Carolina personnel ... Carolina head coach. Lot of people stated that Brady wasn't permitted to run his system and Rhule was the root problem. As far as LSU talent ... sure they had talent ... but they were there the year before Brady and didn't do anything by comparison. Going from 17 to...

But the more interesting fact is that LSU had the very same talent the year before Brady was hired to update the playbook. Same QB, WR's and RB's and they managed only 17 passing TDs. With Brady adding new passing concepts and calling plays in the red zone passing yardage increased from 2970 to...

Funny you state that when the same QB, the same 3WR's and the same RB's were on the roster at LSU and only managed 17 passing TD's and were horrible in 3rd down conversions and red zone offense. The OC hired Brady "to modernize the play book" and gave Brady play calling for 3rd down and red zone...

You're doing revisionist editing as you go along. The original statement read "one of the most innovative minds in college football". Now your most recent critique is "to say the he's THE MOST innovative person". Hey... we're all just killing time until the actual hire is leaked or announced...
